Wonderful Family Stay: two teens, mom, and dad
Our family had a lovely stay at the Amata. A tiny-home experience was something on our 16 year old daughter’s bucket list, as was a visit to Tillamook Creamery - and staying here helped us check off two of those wish-list items.
The space was spotless - super clean, and the decor, appliances, fixtures, and overall look felt modern and new without taking away from the woodland experience. The area it’s in felt secluded but also safe and not too far from civilization - there’s a Dairy Queen and mini mart not too far away at all.
Given all that - it is a “glamping” experience. If you plan on using little sofa/futon which pulls out to a double bed as a bed, I’d bring a sleeping bag, or camping mat as the spot that serves as the base of the couch is hard wood to support the seating when it’s in couch mode. I (mom of the group) slept there for duration of our stay and it was fine - but I’m also pretty short and I slept with my head at the other (cushiony) end so just my feet were on the hard part. And the beds in the loft are on the floor - so we were very diligent about keeping the door closed and sweeping up any food crumbs to be sure there were any critters crawling around and making their way into the beds. We didn’t encounter any, except for a few flies here and there.
