„The service here is really good! They arranged airport pick up and drop off for us, had local suggestions for food and tours. Their English was good and they were very friendly. „Doesn’t look like much from the outside, and the lower levels/elevator are somewhat sketchy, but the rooms themselves, and the rooftop patio were very nice. Good location, walking distance from the pyramids, and a good view of them from the rooms with balconies as well as from the roof. Food and beers were overpriced, and do NOT use them to book a cab… a taxi from the airport cost less than $20, but the hotel wanted $130 for the return trip! All in all, I would stay again.“

„I'm so glad I booked this hotel. From the minute I checked-in I felt at home. The owner and all the staff members made me feel utterly at home. I had an unfortunate accident whilst walking the streets of Cairo where wet concrete fell on me. When I got back to the hotel the owner offered straight away to wash my clothes, he didn't even charge me. The hospitality is something else here! highly recommend, such nice people! “

My educated guess is, the hotel goofed the booking and was overbooked. Management offered a cancellation, but standing in Gizeh in an unsafe area at night without a room was not a real option.
