This property was an absolute highlight of our trip. Luxury and very comfortable, we enjoyed every minute of our stay. View is gorgeous and swimming pool is wonderful. We spent lots of time on the back deck relaxing and watching birds. Beds are super comfortable and property is very well maintained. Thank you so much for everything, Theala!

Blissful Sanctuary
This is the nicest house we’ve ever stayed in while on vacation, and we travel quite a bit. The pictures really don’t do it justice. The property is exquisite — very lush and tropical, enormous and private, well-maintained. The house is gorgeous — very unique and custom, spacious yet comfortable, well furnished and tastefully decorated. This could easily accommodate a much larger group. You could stay your entire time in Belize right here — listening to the birds and howler monkeys, reading books from the plush seating on the scenic veranda, taking a dip in the spring-fed pool, which acts as a sort of atrium in the center of the house (a kid favorite for sure), or letting Sandy prepare you a delicious home-cooked Belizean meal (for less than you’d pay going through a drive-thru back home, I might add) after a day of local hiking at the nearby Blue Hole Park. The house is a bit remote (otherwise it would be astronomically expensive and prob not available), but that’s part of what I personally love about it. It’s located somewhere between Placentia and Mountain Pine Ridge Forest, two areas we wanted to visit. So if you are a bit adventurous and don’t mind some driving, I would highly recommend. Thank you, Theala, for a wonderful stay!

We felt so lucky to stay here!
This home is amazing! Our family of four had such a lovely time enjoying the pool and listening to the birds on the veranda. I could not believe we were able to book this house for only 3 nights as it is SO big for a two bedroom! My husband guessed around 6,000 sq ft. We had such a wonderful time! And Lucy and Silvano were wonderful hosts. We will definitely be back! Thank you for helping to create such a memorable visit for our family.

Clean, Comfortable, Quiet, and Beautiful
The hilltop house is amazing. It has all the conveniences of home, with the added benefit of being close to Hummingbird Highway, jungle wildlife and beauty, and the Caribbean Sea. On our first morning we drove 30 minutes into Dangriga and bought 6 lbs of snapper that had just been caught. We also bought some fresh vegetables at the outdoor market and had the best meals cooked on the outdoor grill at the house during our stay. After a good night's sleep, we were able to explore the numerous nearby surrounding attractions during the day. The indoor pool is very comfortable and fun for kids and adults. I cannot say enough good things about our stay.

Very unique property
My wife, myself, and my brother stayed for four nights.We all said that this is by far the most amazing vacation rental home we have stayed in! The house and the location are incredible. When we weren't off to a nearby adventure we spent our time on the wraparound deck to watch birds and bats and hear the jungle sounds or just take in the amazing view. The indoor pool was perfect to come in and cool off occasionally. The kitchen had everything we needed for preparing meals or making a nice cool frozen drink. The only thing I would suggest here is a LifeWater or high quality pitcher water filter. The water from the tap is from a mountain stream and has some sediment. The furnishings were luxurious and cozy. The soft bed was a godsend after the stiff board mattresses from our last four places! The only criticisms we had was not with the accommodation. Hopefully these will help management. The house keeper was late arriving to let us in at the late afternoon scheduled time and the house was shut up in hot/humid weather without AC on. While she led us around on a very brief tour (thank God) we were sweating buckets. There were a few basic maintenance items that have gone unresolved including a broken kitchen faucet and the master shower which is backwards so all you can get is tepidly warm water. The front door doesn't latch properly so it has to be locked in order to stay closed. The most unfortunate thing was the two skinny tick laden hound dogs kept in small kennels.

One of the best rentals EVER!
This rental was one of the best we have ever stayed at. The pool was so great to have after our hikes or just to be refreshed a few times a day. The house is just gorgeous and very spacious. The furnishings inside and out were very comfortable and in great condition. The air conditioning in the bed rooms was great for getting a good night’s sleep. The surrounding jungle was thick and beautiful and the views from the surround porch were incredible. The owner was very helpful and answered our many questions. The onsite caretaker, Polo, was wonderful. He explained many things about the local culture and helped us with anything we asked about. He even dug up a casava for us to cook. All around our experience was just incredible and we recommend it HIGHLY!!!!

Gorgeous Home, Wonderful Stay!
There are so many great reviews of this property but I wanted to add to it. The home is spacious and beautiful and there are so many lovely details and fixtures. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals but we had Sandy, Lucy's daughter prepare 2 dinners for us. I highly recommend asking her to make stewed chicken, rice and beans, and fried plantains. The indoor pool is wonderful, just what we needed after the hot, humid days out sightseeing. There is a washer and dryer, making it easier to pack lighter. There is a guestbook in the entryway, I highly recommend reading through it to get recommendations for things to do and places to eat. We went to the restaurant at the Sleeping Giant Resort and it was amazing. Best service I've ever had. Ask to be seated at one of Hailey's tables, she's an amazing server. A few reviewers mentioned bringing bug spray and I used OFF brand picardin and was diligent about using it and didn't not get any bites. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer in this beautiful home.

Breathtaking home
This is more than just a house. It is a borderline resort. The house is incredibly private with an indoor pool. The BR’s are air conditioned and have very, very high end bedding. The house is furnished with plush couches and chairs. Full kitchen and huge DR. It’s overlooking mountains on 3 sides and worth every cent I paid. Great location to take day trips to Placencia and Ruins. Close to your companies running cave and waterfall tours. Wholeheartedly recommend.

Hilltop house is bigger and better than pictured. If you are looking for quiet getaway this is your place. We were close to several different areas for incredible hiking. Polo and Silvano are readily available for anything you needed or didn't even know you needed. Make sure to pack lots of bug spray, pants and long sleeves to protect you from the little blood sucking botlass fly when outside. If you choose Hilltop house you will not be disappointed!

Paradise
The pictures of the property do not demonstrate what an amazing place this is! We stayed with our children (ages 4, 7, 10). We all loved the location and Polo was incredibly kind, knowledgeable and helpful. The pool is stunning and perfect after a hot day of hiking. The attention to detail in the house is unmatched. The sunrises and sunsets from the wrap around porch were stunning! Our only wish is that we could have stayed for longer! There are lots of wonderful things to do in the surrounding area--Hopkins is a lovely village and our fishing/snorkel trip from here was wonderful, the waterfalls and orange farms are fun to visit. This areas has a lot to offer!!!! We hope we are able to return in the future.

Belizian Paradise!!
This is our first time to Belize and we could not have found a more perfect place to stay! The house was immaculate cleaned, and well maintained by Lucy and Polo. Both of them were very delightful! Many thanks to Theala and Polo which was the start of this outstanding stay. The property, house and amenities are truly superb and extremely well kept. Fully equipped, clean, and quiet with outstanding views and perfect privacy. My wife, my daughters and I loved every minute of our stay.

Perfect Jungle Get-Away
Property is a ways away from Belize City, but the drive was nice and communication was great via email. Property is tucked away on the edge of the jungle and absolutely gorgeous and spotless clean! Very relaxing and was the perfect start to our trip to be alone away from everything for a few days but not far from the beach and other activities. The property manager is a very nice man named Polo and he was extremely helpful and answered all of our questions! The pool was great to cool off between meals and activities and the whole house is so relaxing. The bedrooms are awesome with the coldest AC I've experienced in all of Central America so far. So cold we slept under the blankets which was so nice after sweating in the sun all day. If you are looking to party for 3 days at night clubs this isn't the spot for you, but if you want to relax and enjoy the beauty around you for a few days this is the spot. Cut up fresh fruit and freeze it for delicious smoothies and the water is great and purified! This was the perfect start to our honeymoon, to relax from travel, get away from the world and feel the romance of the moment.

Nothing Short of Amazing!
This house was everything anyone could want in a vacation home! Private, secluded, and still within a short drive of so many things to do. We drove to nearby towns on the coast, and to the ruins over by Guatemala. The wildlife was fun to watch and listen to. Howler monkeys at night just added to the mystique of the property. Sandy's cooking was just an added bonus! It was nice to enjoy the same food the locals like. We'd recommend this property to any and all considering staying here!

Brilliant in every way!
My group of four had an amazing time at Hilltop house. The property is huge, stunning, immaculately kept and very luxurious - one of the best rental properties I've been lucky enough to stay in. Property manager Polo was always available for anything we needed. He waited by the road for us when we arrived late and after dark, collected fresh coconut water for us, kept us stocked with fresh fruit from the grounds, and even washed our dusty rental car! The house is well stocked with kitchen gear and linens. The beds were ridiculously comfortable and the pool was blissful! Not to mention those jaw-dropping views from the wrap-around deck - we saw toucans flying in the evenings! This place is glamorous, well situated to many nearby activities, and comfortable to the max - I could not recommend it more highly!

Paradise in the Jungle
We enjoyed absolutely everything about Hilltop House. The pictures on the website are understated compared to the real beauty of this house! The views of the mountains and the valley are breath-taking, the activities in the area were diverse and entertaining. Polo was an absolute gem and being able to hire Sandra to come and cook for us every night just made our vacation so restful and relaxing. Coming in March was ideal as we did not have any mosquito issues and fortunately nobody in our group suffered effects from the tiny no-seeums. If you’re looking for something different than a beach vacation, this is the place for you! Thank you Theala for making your beautiful house available to us! Julie, Adam, Jill and Dave
