Although about a 100 yard walk to the lake, it has a nice large driveway and yard. Owner was prompt to respond to messages. Contacted the owned about one month prior to stay to clear up confusion about check-in time which was on the property listing as 3pm, but on the property info after booking as 4pm. I mentioned that we would be getting into town around 2-3pm and to please verify check-in time. He indicated that there would be nobody staying at the home the week we checked in and that we could check in at 2pm. We appreciated the accommodation! We arrived at 2:15 to find a car in the driveway. I stuck my head into the house and spoke to the cleaning lady who indicated that she "was just finishing making up the last bed." I told her that was fine and that we were going to walk down to the dock to meet someone who was docking a boat. We came back about 20 minutes later to get our car and the lady was mowing. Upon seeing us, she quit mowing, we thanked her for her work, and she left. The yard was not completely mowed, but that was fine for our needs. The house was generally clean, but the cleaning lady obviously did not have time to finish upon our arrival due to snack crumbs and possible pet hair on the living room floor, dried cheese product on the stove, a small bit of trash in the kitchen can, etc. I am guessing there was just confusion in communication between the owner and the cleaning lady about our check in time. Otherwise, the house was pretty clean with high tech appliances. Directions for how to use some of the appliances may be needed. Tried to use the propane fire pit the first night, but the propane tank appeared to be empty and the tank for the grill appeared to not have much propane either. I'm sure the owner would have promptly rectified this for us the next day, but we were only staying one more night and storms were in the forecast. If staying there with people under the age of 21 years, be aware that there is alcohol sitting out on the kitchen counters that you may want them to stay out of. Refrigerator had condiments in the door that I am assuming the owner wouldn't mind sharing. The freezer was nearly full, however, so plan on only using one shelf for your frozen items. There were minor issues, that I'm sure would have been promptly rectified if they had been a big enough issue for us to contact the owner about. Due to our short stay, we did not see the need to bother the owner though. Overall, we would stay here again!
