Delightful self-contained loft house, close to beaches. A wonderful place to getaway, unwind, relax, and enjoy stunning rural and water views backgrounded by beautiful birdsong.
This is a typical kiwi bach around an hour’s drive from Auckland city. Close to numerous beaches, walks, and many things to enjoy in and around Matakana and Warkworth. You’re welcome to bring your boat as we have plenty of parking space!

The large bedroom has a queen bed with duvet (with cover) and pillows provided. Linen (sheets and pillowcases) and shower towels can be provided at a cost of $25.00 per person.
There is a second bedroom downstairs with single bunks. Duvets and pillows provided. Linen (sheets and pillowcases and towels) can be provided at the cost of $25.00 per person.
A third bedroom downstairs (entry through the bunk room) has a queen bed with duvet (with cover and pillows provided). Linen (sheets and pillowcases) and shower towels can be provided at a cost of $25.00 per person.
There is an ensuite off this bedroom with toilet and hand basin.
We have a cot (with mattress) available for use in any of the bedrooms. It can also be easily converted into a toddler bed. You will need to bring your own sheets for this.
The well-equipped kitchen includes a fridge/freezer, stove top coffee percolator, blender, microwave, kettle and toaster.
Coffee (instant, bring your own favourite blend for the percolator), tea, milk and sugar supplied.
The main bathroom has a basin, shower, toilet, heated towel rail, hairdryer and toiletries. Hand towels, face cloths and bath mat are provided.
The lounge/dining room has television, a fireplace, jigsaws and books and great views.
There is a flight of stairs up to the accommodation so it is not suitable for someone with mobility issues.
Local attractions include:
Three great beaches - Snells Beach, Algies Bay and Martins Bay.
Visit the donkey park - just 2 kilometers up the road (highly recommended for animal lovers!)
Stop by the famous Matakana Saturday market, local vineyards and Morris and James pottery.
Matakana has great cafes and restaurants and a movie theatre.
Take the ferry from Sandspit to Kawau and visit Mansion House, the former home of Sir George Grey.
Check out the sea life at Goat Island Marine Reserve – a popular diving spot and excellent snorkelling straight off the beach.
There are three regional parks to enjoy in the area – Mahurangi, Scandrett, and Tāwharanui.
Warkworth has great cafes and restaurants, and lots of interesting local shops. Wander along the Mahurangi river or explore the Kauri Park. Go horse trekking or play a round of golf.
There are Countdown and New World supermarkets in Warkworth and a PaknSave close to the motorway exit.
The local shopping centre has pharmacies, a fuel station, a cafe, bakeries, an Indian restaurant, a pub, liquor stores and takeaways, including a great fish and chip shop.
