Hotel with access to lake
Even though, I've read about Sue's and Tom's kindness and supportive manner before, I was quite surprised when we arrived.
They explained everything to us, including where to go hiking, swimming, shopping and dining. Both are very likeable and very friendly to their staff who is noticeable kind, understanding and caring itself.
Franklin County is, as the hotel, beautiful with a lot of nature and activities to do as explained above.
The Wilson Lake Inn has a great garden (flowers, flowers, flowers!!!), clearly made with care and love - you almost feel like you're in a park. It contains grills, benches, deckchairs, tables and also an access to the lake.
You can borrow kayaks, canoes and other types of boats for free. They also provide lifejacket. Again, the owners were really supportive when they made sure we'd get safe on the water and also showed us how to cayak.
The room we had was almost an apartment, large and even with an fully equipped kitchen.
The laundry room prices are cheap especially compared to other prices I've seen in other hotels.
Supermarkets and restaurants are very near-by either in Wilton or Farmington.
Since the building has been built in the 50ies, in doesn't have a dining room, which definitely wasn't a problem for us, because there are trays and you can eat outside or in your room.
However, if I am ever in Maine again, I will definitely make sure I'll visit the Inn.
