There's a special place in Western North Carolina, high up in the Blue Ridge mountains, which was once notorious for its moonshine and outlaws. Today, it strives to maintain that character, where on a clear night, the Milky Way displays itself in all its glory. Mitchell County is known for its artists, gem mines and hiking trails. We are loczted 6.7 miles from downtown Bakersville.
Our property is large with its own hiking trails and we are about 15 minutes from the world famous Appalachian Trail (AT). You'll be staying in a well-outfitted pod (arched cabin), with comfortable beds, hot showers, a hot tub and camp fires to relax by after a day exploring the wilderness. Cook on an open fire, or travel to Burnsville, a short 20 minute drive which has a good variety of eateries and a cold drink.
Ample space for wildlife, you are apt to see deer, wild turkeys, racoons and even black bears. At the end of the day, sit back and enjoy the spectacular sunsets and after dark, get out your telescope for some of the best star gazing that can be found anywhere.
