„Das Haus liegt ruhig und etwas abseits der anderen Häuser im kleinen, beschaulichen Ort Thorpe bei Ashbourne. Um das Haus herum Wiesen und Berge, sehr gute Wandergelegenheiten in alle Richtungen. Das Haus war erstklassig ausgestattet und wunderschön. Der Pool und die Schwimmhalle waren durchweg beheizt und wahnsinnig toll! Ray war unglaublich hilfsbereit und nett! Wir würden definitiv wieder hier her kommen.“

„We’ve stayed in the other property and that seemed to be abit more updated than this one. It advertised as having internet but as property is so remote and thick cottage stone we couldn’t get any internet. Also kitchen area may be needs some updating. All in all had a lovely time. “

„Lovely property in a peaceful location. Facilities were great, lots of care has gone into providing a very comfortable holiday home. The hot tub was wonderful at the end of a day out exploring. The welcome bottle of prosecco was a lovely gesture. We all had a great stay. “

„Die Ferrienwohnung ist sehr liebevoll, mit Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Gemütlich, nostalgisch, sauber und ordentlich, man kann sich hier als Gast wirklich wohl fühlen. Der Eigentümer hat in der FeWo hilfreiche Hinweise für Einkaufsmöglichkeiten u. Restaurants vorbereitet. Sehr zu empfehlen.“

„We booked the cottage for a week's stay whike work was being done on our home. It was a real home from home too. Everything's there, including electric blankets to warm the beds. Although thd heating kept the cottage toasty, we turned most off except living room and bathroom. Loved the log burner too, a real focal point. Internet provided was good, a bonus as the phone signal there is poor, as is most of the local area due to hills etc. Would certainly recommend.“

„We spent a fantastic vacation at this lovely cottage. Even before we started our journey from Germany, communication was very kind and helpful. On arrival the welcome was very warm and nice. We found everything we needed in the cottage and the sight in front of it was great and peaceful. Our son (and we) loved the horses, sheeps and other animals around the farm. „Nice and spacious for the 6 of us - may feel cramped if full. 3 very good en-suites but a slight problem for bedroom 4 as no easy bathroom access. Wi-Fi good. Would be even better with full TV service and one or two more cooking utensils eg for microwave. May well stay here again“

„We frequently stay in holiday properties and so know what you can get for £140 / night and sadly this was not up to the standards we would expect. The cottage is lovely, in a lovely sertting but it is very damp with mould around the windows and mildew on the curtains. It was not clean, the tiles in the bathroom were mouldy, under the furniture were dead woodlouse and other remnants of insects, cobwebs everywhere and the lavatory off the main bedroom was very poorly cleaned. „Lovely cottage. Secluded spot, very quiet and great views. Very well set up for dogs - great having a fenced field for them to run around safely. Bowls, balls, dog towels, poo bags, etc provided. Very comfy for the humans too!“

„Amazing well equipped spacious chapel. I actually got lost in it when I first entered. We were 6 couples enjoying a birthday celebration and it exceeded all our expectations. Beautiful furnishings with attention to detail. Fully equipped kitchen with a spare kitchen if needed (which you don’t) Heating system worked very well, considering the size of the property too. James was very prompt with a query. A pub and walks on your doorstep everything you could possibly need. Can’t wait to revisit. “

The location is perfect – with plenty of scope for walking and pop visits. Only reason for the 4-star cleaning rating is an unclean grill with bacon smell on arrival (I'm not a fan of meat) – but definitely not a biggie and we'd highly recommend the barn.“

„Really comfortable room and bed with a modern bathroom that’s super clean. Staff were welcoming and the breakfast was great with lots of options. Parking is easy and it’s really accessible for visiting our family. Would suggest a little bit more personal interaction to gauge why a customer visits and share what else is available food/drink wise from the hotel besides breakfast. Will be staying again in a couple of weeks and looking forward to it.“

„This was a good spot to explore the area from. Only a short drive to a few spots nearby and the onsite restaurant was good. Nice carvery. The staff were excellent. Our only issues were a toilet that didn't flush properly and a shower that had a wonky temperature regulator. They called the plumber for us but we were only there for one night so it couldn't be fixed until the next day. Good value for the money.“

"This Hilton has rooms which are clean and quiet, beds are good but no option to ventilate the room. The restaurant facilities can’t be worse: at opening time of the restaurant we ordered food and 10 minutes later you are told to order something else because they ran out of it. As we had chosen something else, the response was: “Is THAT all, you want nothing else?” In a very arrogant way. Then they even expect a tip afterwards. During Checkout, the receptionists were unable to produce an invoice. I wanted to know how much and for what I would be charged. This was the wrong question as the receptionist in jogging-trousers became very unfriendly. This is not what I’m used to experience in a Hilton Hotel!"
