Dining for 8 at the spacious kitchen island, indoor sunroom dining table, or lakeside harvest table with bench seating. 120 feet of waterfront offers spectacular views of Smith's Bay. Kitchen offers fridge, wine fridge, range, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, blender and Keurig coffee maker. 5 burner BBQ plus side burner on propane line for outdoor cooking-no changing tanks! If Waupoos breezes do not offer enough air, the Lazy Acre has central air conditioning.

Awesome visit
Our stay was great from the moment we walked in the door. The rooms were cosy and comfortable and the cottage was spotless. It was very well stocked from linens to plates/glasses/cutlery to coffee, tea, hot chocolate and spices. There was even all the fixings for homemade dressing as well as 2 bottles of local wine. The view was a stunning gift each morning, watching the sun rise over the water. I look forward to returning again!

Property is tucked away off main road, clean and modern inside. All the amenities are convenient; parking, garbage, fire pit, water toys, etc. This is a nice little pocket where you can grab food, taste wine, and visit local treasures with limited driving.

Wonderful week spent at The Lazy Acre
Our family have just returned from an amazing week enjoying The Lazy Acre. The cottage itself was a great space for our group (varying between 2 and 6 adults over our stay) to unwind. It has been very thoughtfully renovated and the bedrooms and beds were very comfortable. The AC was something we sought out in our cottage hunt and it kept everyone comfortable when indoors and overnight. The kitchen is the (indoor) centrepiece of this property. It is very well appointed with new appliances and plenty of kitchenware to support almost any task. The large island became a gathering spot as meals as snacks were prepared and enjoyed, while the sunroom was where we gathered to eat and play games, all while taking in the view of the bay. The location benefits from an incredible waterfront setting, but is still less than 15 min into Picton and all that it offers. County Cider (and their great ciders, fantastic pizza and incredible view) is only 5 min away and other gems such as Jackson Falls Country Inn (and their fantastic brunch) are only a ~ 10 min trip. All in all - I would recommend The Lazy Acre to anyone wanting to enjoy a clean, comfortable waterfront cottage in the County, but still able to do quick trips into Picton or the any of the surrounding attractions!

Beautiful location! Very quiet and private (even with neighbours close by). Cottage had everything we needed. Only issue was digital lock system. Big concern about the possibility of locking ourselves out. Had to make sure we traveled with log in details, as it kicked us off a couple of times. Could use a bar or tub mat in the showers (but that’s just my age group :). All in all a lovely vacation break — thank you! K

Well appointed with new appliances, large kitchen, 3 main floor bedrooms and screened in porch. Very comfortable. Owner is very helpful and left us wine! There were lots of flies in May….so we limited time outdoors at the cottage. Great stay nonetheless. We’d go back.

Peaceful and relaxing
This property is located on a quiet bay in Prince Edward County. Amenities and plenty of fun sites to visit are all accessible within minutes, although staying at the house and taking in the serenity in the beautiful back yard is a viable option. The house is clean and well-maintained. The kitchen made cooking ‘at home’ easy as it is very well-appointed. There is also a BBQ grill for meals at home. The fire pit made for cozy evenings. We snapped beautiful photos of sailboats, sunrises, sunsets, swans, geese and ducks. The weather cooperated so we were outdoors most of the visit. We certainly would consider a return visit. The only negatives were a noisy neighbor a few doors down playing music somewhat loudly one afternoon and the understandably energy-efficient indoor lightning which is rather harsh and bright. We found creative mood lighting eventually, but once again, being outdoors is the way to go. Visit the nearby markets and vineyards. It’s a well-located humble PEC abode.

Lovely cottage
Very well equipped kitchen, perfectly clean cottage, lovely location! My only comment is that the living room is a little smaller than we expected, particularly for 6 adults. Screened-in porch with dining table has seating for 8 and fabulous views of the lake. Patricia was very easy to deal with and she responded to questions very quickly. Lots to do in the area. I would definitely rent there again.

Best cottage in the county!
We just loved staying at Lazy Acres. It is situated on a quiet bay with an east/south view. Our favourite time of day is the morning: sipping on a cup of coffee on the dock, watching the birds, swans and geese swim/fly by. The firepit is wonderful at night, and we were impressed with the well-supplied kitchen and huge island which allowed people to sit around and chat with who ever was preparing the meal. We really appreciated the two full bathrooms and the air conditioning on hot days (note that there are no AC vents in the 2 smaller bedrooms, but sleeping with the doors open and the fans on allowed the AC to cool down the rooms sufficiently). The living room area is tiny and sparsely furnished which made it a challenge for all 6 guests to watch TV. But we pulled in the small loveseat from the screened in porch to accommodate everyone. We enjoyed playing the board games in the ottoman, and there is a great selection of books to read as well. We LOVED the screened in porch during inclement weather. I found it strange that there is no door to the semi-finished basement as the furnace was sometimes noisy. Patricia was always responsive to texts (within minutes: wow!) and Charlie next door was a huge help as well, bringing toilet paper, helping unstick a screen window, and taking our garbage out to the road. Be aware that there are cottages in fairly close proximity to the property so when neighbours are landscaping, building, renovating or playing loud music your peaceful solitude might be disrupted. The lane that the cottage is on is perfect for a short walk (wonderful for dogs), and for a longer walk, you can walk to the marina to admire the boats. Be sure to buy some buttertarts right next to the marina: best ones in the county! Also, you must visit the Waupoos Winery, the County Cider House, and the Inn on the Lake on the mountain. The only thing that would make this cottage better would be 1 or 2 kayaks for renters to use (I found a kayak rental shop nearby but they do not rent for a full week, only hourly). Patricia is a very friendly and responsive host and we can't wait to come back to Lazy Acres!
