We paid a great deal of money for our stay and had very high expectations, which left us flat. The 1 cabin seemed to have been renovated, which wasn't necessarily a good thing. The stove and cooking utensils did not work properly. There was no vent to cook which smoked out the room, the pans to cook in everything, stuck to them and burned the food. Next, the heating unit made terribly loud noises, every time it was used.
Next, the main bed was very very hard and left my Husband in alot of pain and without sleep (along with the loud heating unit noise) for the first 2 nights. We then switched to the fold out bed in hopes for some sleep; had to put down 2 blankets under us but then slept a tiny bit more. Next, the phone didn't work and there was no iron which made for a difficult holiday week trip. Also, there was not one place to put your clothes; not one dresser, shelf or closet. In all the 45 years I've been traveling and staying in hotels i have never seen or experienced that. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I would not want anybody else to spend the amount of money we spent and be put in that situation without having this previous knowledge. The pictures on the website show the one bedroom cabin to look well appointed, but it's actually not accurate in our opinion, and we come to Big Bear 2-3 times a year. We were disappointed how our beautiful trip was hurt by not being able to sleep. I sure hope they make changes for the better for the next people.
