Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable escape.
Welcome to Dennis' a brand new self contained shepherds hut snuggled into the wild woods of mid Cornwall. The hut has all you need for a wholesome stay yet sits in the undisturbed forest floor allowing guests to truly feel disconnected to the outside world. Meet our resident stag Dennis & his partner Deidre as they shuffle their way through the trees. Enjoy the birdsong & all the outdoors has to offer.
The space
Dennis' is fully kitted out with everything you may need for your stay. We have tried hard to ensure guests feel at home at Grambles Glamping & have filled the hut with things we would like on a stay based on our own personal glamping adventures.
There is a double bed fitted with an Emma mattress. Extra blankets and pillows make for a truly snuggly rest. With windows to the side & base of the bed you can sit back & relax with a warm drink whilst enjoying the wonderous swaying trees. With personal lights above the bed there is gentle lighting to enjoy late night reading.
Unlike most shepherds huts, there is a comfortable sofa which looks out of the stable door- meaning on days when the weather is less favourable you can stay warm & dry but still enjoy the view!
A pull down table & 2 benches offers somewhere to eat/ work if alfresco is off the cards!
The woodfired log burner provides the heating for the hut & really is a wonderful feature to settle down in front of.
There is a hand crafted kitchen area inclusive of a dual hob induction burner, toaster, kettle & belfast sink. Tea, coffee, sugar, olive oil, salt & pepper will be provided, along with towels, cleaning cloths/ products & toilet rolls.
The ensuite bathroom is fitted with a full size hot water shower. There is also a hand basin & flushing WC. Shampoo, conditioner & body wash/hand soap are provided.
On the rainy days enjoy the sound of the rain on the roof & on the dry days enjoy the outdoors seating area & bbq fire pit.
There are bowls for our four legged guests, along with a rug for them to cosy up on.
We really do feel that Dennis' is very special & cannot wait to welcome guests to our gorgeous little retreat! We hope (& think) that you will be very happy here & feel as fufilled here as we do.
We are proud members of Wanderlust Camping Club- every booking will include FRER membership to the club. This means you will get access to places like ours and you’ll hear about new sites and promotions.
Guest access
Dennis' can be found right amongst the trees & guests are welcome to stroll amongst the woodland here.
Any furry friends are also welcome to roam but please do remove any waste & ensure they are under control at all times.
Parking can be found to the left hand side as you arrive through the gateway- please feel free to drop off any luggage further up the drive nearer to the hut but to retain the grass verges & habitat please ensure cars are parked at the bottom paddock.
Lanivet, England, United Kingdom
The village of Lanivet is proudly known for two things; first for being the most central village in Cornwall and secondly, for growing/ providing the bamboo for the Panda's at London Zoo during the second world war! No doubt you will notice the village mascot Panda at various venues in the village.
Access to both North & South coastlines, along with the rugged Moor's are all within reach from the Hut. The A30 is only 5 minutes away meaning that staying here really does allow guests to explore all that Cornwall has to offer (and there is lots!!)!
Lanivet is the half way point of the historical Saint's Way- known for it's access to Pilgrims travelling from Ireland to France! It remains to offer walkers sign posted directions to either Padstow or Fowey.
The village has all you need within a gentle stroll from the Hut; shop, pub, fish & chip shop, post office and community centre (excellent breakfasts and lunches- huge portions!!).
There are several walking routes around the village along with several public footpaths.
The town of Bodmin can be accessed within a 5 minute drive.
Despite all of the above the Hut is situated down a private farm track and nestled within the trees and offers guests the opportunity to feel completely submurged in nature, soaking up all these woods and wildlife have to offer. Find yourself surrounded by daffodils, primroses and bluebelles in the spring. Blossom trees and lucious greenery in the summer and warming orange tones and crispy leaves in the autumn/winter. Bird song is guaranteed all year long- the hut really is ideal for all the seasons and fully equipped for whatever they bring. You'll be able to enjoy a BBQ and alfresco beverages in the sun or a snuggly log burner hot chocolate in the cold!
If you're looking to stay in Cornwall we've no doubt you already know about the vast opportunities here but as a proud Cornish maid I feel it necassary to remind you that Cornwall really does have something to suit everyone- the sea, coastal paths, headlands, beaches, moors, tors, countryside, rivers, lakes, woodland and an array of idylic villages/towns and more well known main visitor attractions.
