The house is located within a couple of minutes walk of the lovely town of Bovec with its numerous restaurants, bars and shops. Easy access to the surrounding beautiful countryside, and as we are keen kayakers the stunning Soca river is only minutes away by car.
The accommodation is sited in a small, quiet cul de sac off the main High Street with off road parking. The house comprises of 4 spacious double bedrooms over 3 floors with 3 bathrooms / shower rooms, huge lounge/ dining area, fully fitted out kitchen (with dishwasher, microwave, oven, grill, hob, fridge/freezer, crockery and pans galore) and vital for skiers / kayakers - a drying room for the kit.
The layout was ideal for our party - myself, wife and teenage son (19) and 2 kayaking friends - there was sufficient room for everyone to have their own space if they wanted it, but equally designed to be a social place at meal times. Our favourite room was the lounge, with its leather settees and arm chairs, rustic dining table and the fabulous window sill you could sit on with the huge windows open taking in the late afternoon sun.
Decor is light & modern and the property immaculately presented, providing you with all the creature comforts of your own home. It felt like you had just moved into some elses' home rather than a bland, soulless holiday let.
The property owner who lives in the UK could not have been more helpful running up to our holiday, the local property manager Dragan (and his family) were always on hand if you ever needed help or local advice and the neighbours were very friendly - so much so that we were invited to a birthday party whilst we were there !
If you like the outdoors then Bovec is definitely a place to visit. We went paragliding whilst we were there and there are numerous other adventurous activities to take part in including cycle hire, all bookable from the town centre. The walking is simply stunning with an abundance of waterfalls to explore.
So as the 5 of us flew back out of Ljubljana airport bidding temporary farewell to a lovely part of the world, the question was "would we return to this property - the resounding answer was "YES" most definitely.
