Here is information about the property and the note that I sent to the owner due to the fact that he misrepresented his property. You can decide if you want to stay at this location.
1. You did not disclose that there was a "resident" cat on the premises during our stay.
Any animal, pet or otherwise, should not be on the interior premises ever. Along with people having allergies to animals, cleanliness of the interior premises cannot be maintained. Two of my guests have minor allergies to cats, causing them to take over the counter medication to relieve their symptoms. Also, although I did not see this before it was cleaned up, one guest told me that he found feces and vomit, apparently from the cat, on the floor near the pool table in the basement. He cleaned it up and disposed of it before I had a chance to witness it or record it with a photo. Along with the allergies, this cat was allowed to be loose in the house at all hours, having access to any foodstuffs that were left out. It was seen on all of the furniture, the dining room seats, couches etc... That is not the way to maintain sanitized conditions in a facility.
2. BATS-You have a bat issue and bat feces were present at the entrance to the house all of the time. These feces were tracked into the house on shoes by anyone that walked into the house through the front door. Feces of any sort are not sanitary and can cause all sorts of disease. Bats were also present during the evening hours on the back deck. Feces were also present on the roof over/near the grill on the back deck. Water landing on the roof carries the feces off of the roof and onto the back deck area, furniture, grill, deck area, spreading it all over.
3. Owner on premises-You did not disclose that you would be present or enter the premises during any part of our stay. If you were going to be present at any time, you need to disclose this information. It creates an uncomfortable situation and one that needs to be addressed at the time of booking.
