Overall, this listing was not as described.
The property is in an old home that has potential, but unfortunately it is not yet ready to be rented out.
The owner provided keys to the front and side doors to the home, and initially we chose to go in the side door - this was a mistake. As soon as we entered, there was a clear smell of gas, which seemed to be coming from the basement door, and pieces of drywall/plaster were missing. There were no working lights that we could find, and as we did not feel safe continuing up (it was 10:30pm, and very dark outside), we went to the front entrance.
We followed the instructions provided by the owner to turn on the lights for the front stairs, but could not get them to turn on.
Inside the unit, it seemed like effort had been made to make the living and dining areas look inviting. However, there was still a smell of gas present. One of the windows had been left open, and we wondered if this was to diffuse the odor.
The bathroom was dirty, with garbage on the floor and almost no toilet paper provided (including in the cabinet). The shower was visibly unclean and seemed dated/in need of some repair.
Although the bedrooms did appear to have clean linen, they also seemed in need of some TLC (for example, bare/unfinished light fixtures and water spots in the ceiling).
In fairness, we should have called the maintenance number provided as soon as we arrived, but as it was late and we had been traveling all day we opted to stay in a h
