Welcome to Sweet Retreat by Tiny Away! Where our family has been farming in Bundaberg for 163 years since 1870. The perfect farm stay QLD retreat located near two of Bundaberg's most famous tourist attractions, the Bundaberg Rum Distillery and the Bundaberg Brewed Drinks Barrel Tourist Centre. And, just 10 minutes from Bargara Beach and 4 km from the town centre CBD.
The Space:
Sweet Retreat by Tiny Away is a charming tiny house situated in the peaceful suburbs of Bundaberg, only an hour's drive from the coastal town of Hervey Bay. Coral Cove, Burnett Heads, and Elliot Heads are just a few nearby coastal areas where you can enjoy fishing, beach walking, swimming, and even visit Moore Park Beach—a nesting site for sea turtles.
This tranquil countryside escape located on a lush paddock that offers breathtaking views of the river, a small orchard, and flourishing crops that thrive during the growing season. The property has a spacious pool area and a well-equipped barbecue grill, providing an ideal setting for both relaxation and entertainment.
A cozy 139-square-foot tiny home with easy water access, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. The bathroom follows ecologically sustainable principles, including an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and gas-heated shower.

Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the tiny house, pool area, and paddock. However, they will have restricted access to the two other houses, the shed, and barn.
We advise guests that they are not allowed in the pool area after 9 PM as it is a shared space/area of the property.

Experience the ultimate getaway at Sweet Retreat by Tiny Away, nestled in the suburbs of Bundaberg, just an hour's scenic drive from the coastal gem of Hervey Bay. Bundaberg offers a rich variety of attractions for visitors.
Just 2km from the World-famous Rum Distillery is the Bundaberg Brewed Drinks Barrel, home to the iconic Bundaberg Ginger Beer, as well as the Ohana Tropical Fruit Winery. The tourist center, located next to the Rum Distillery, provides a great starting point for exploring the area.
Bundaberg is the gateway to the southern Great Barrier Reef, where you can visit the renowned Lady Musgrave Island and Lady Elliott Island.
The region is also known for its stunning beaches. Bargara Beach is only 10km from Sweet Retreat, while Kelly Beach, Nelsons Beach, Elliott Heads with its white sand, Burnett Heads, Mon Repos, and Moore Park Beach offer more beautiful coastal experiences.
Additionally, Bundaberg is famous for its turtle conservation efforts. The world famous Mon Repos Turtle Center offers guided tours to educate visitors about these incredible creatures.
Don't miss the famous Hinkler Hall of Aviation and the Bundaberg Botanic Gardens, where you can enjoy steam cane train trips through the park.

By car:

- From Brisbane, it is 362 km It takes approximately 4h 35m to drive from Bundaberg to Brisbane at the moment the main highway is having upgrades so there can be delays. All are reachable by 2WD and well 4wd can go to most places.
By public transport: We would like to inform our guests that there is no public transport that travels directly to our property.

- No unregistered visitors or guests allowed
- Breakfast is available by prior notice from the host
- WiFi available; password will be sent prior to booking
- Telstra, Optus, and Vodafone have good signals; others have no signal
- Given the rural setting, children are welcome under CLOSE ADULT SUPERVISION
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge
Safety guidelines
- Please exercise caution around kangaroos; please avoid carelessly touching them
- Please avoid walking through tall grass or grasslands as snakes are abundant in the area.
- To ensure your safety, it is recommended that you wear long, loose-fitting pants and closed-toe shoes, such as boots or sneakers.
Important note:
- Keep in mind that BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the [compost/cassette] toilets and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
