“Takoda” means “Friend to All”! When we decided to open our getaway home for others to enjoy, we couldn’t think of a more fitting name for our beautiful falls! Get away to this peaceful cabin style home with Native American decor situated on 88 partially wooded and actively farmed acres! NO hunting permitted!!
Walk the path to lovely Takoda Falls. Approximately 1 mile round trip. Please be aware that weather conditions such as recent rainfall or lack of will determine falls activity, but worth the walk to this tranquil part of the property regardless of falls activity.
This newly remodeled home sleeps 6 with 2 bedrooms, 2 full baths, fully appointed kitchen- Amenities in kitchen include an air fryer, blender, double toaster, Keurig coffee maker with assorted pods and bottled water for brewing provided ( the tap water is delicious natural spring water but is hard on the coffee maker), knife set, crock pot, Kitchen-aid mixer, electric wine opener, can opener, pots and pans, cutting board, cookie sheet, popcorn popper and popcorn provided.
Basic kitchen needs such as sugar, flour, oil, salt, pepper and other spices, plus condiments, butter, creamer and eggs are available.
2 smart tv's, free wi-fi, lower walk-out level is stocked with puzzles and games, adult coloring books with colored pencils, pull-out queen-size sleeper sofa and washer/dryer with detergent and natural wool balls for the dryer.
Relax in the salt water hot tub on the oversized patio-plastic and insulated drink ware provided. Cozy up to the propane fire table including 6 adirondike chairs. Wood burning fire pit on hill behind the house where youll find starters and kindling as well as hot dog/marshmallow utensils. Enjoy zero gravity and standard lounge chairs for soaking up the sun as well as an outdoor dining table and grill-paper and plastic products for outdoor dining provided.
Enjoy drinks at the bar overlooking Four Mile Creek valley on the 2-sided deck complete with 4 double gliders for comfortable socializing. You will see plenty of birds (maybe even a bald eagle!) along with other wildlife.
The home has gorgeous, unique custom red cedar and natural wood furnishings throughout, which sets a cozy, relaxing tone.
Just a 12-minute drive to Miami University stadium. Houston Woods is just 10 minutes away with hiking trails, mountain bike paths, nature center and beach. The seven covered bridges driving tour is also a popular local attraction as well as the Schoolhouse Winery.
