When we first arrived the stairway and hallways were dirty and unvacuumed. The ‘P’ in the open sign did not work. When I went to the bathroom in our room the toilet seat was broken. A thick layer of dust on the bathroom heat register and also on all ledges and picture frames. The fan in the bathroom was caked with dirt and dust.The over head dome light in the main room was full of dead flies and bugs.
We were booked in Wetaskiwin at the Travelodge for Saturday the 26th as well so we voiced our findings to the receptionist requesting a different clean room for that night. She checked the house cleaning schedule and claimed that our room had been cleaned on the 22nd and the dust was from their ventilation system. I have had previous experience in house keeping and called her bluff. Before leaving for the day we requested that our belongings be left in our existing room and we were to be accompanied by the desk attendant to see for themselves how dirty our room was. That evening when we returned another disgruntled guest went into his room to find dirty towels and his bed unmade. So the front desk receptionist went up to his room to look. When he came back he came with us up to our room and took pictures of the dust, broken toilet seat and flie infested dome light to send to his manager. He then took us to our own room, helped us with our luggage and went with me to inspect for cleanliness and it was good.
From our experience, we do not recommend this place to anyone.
