Castlepoint is one of NZ's top 10 beaches and provides for plenty of outdoor activities, walk to Castlepoint lighthouse, the DOC walk around the lagoon and a hike up Castlerock to take in the fantastic scenery. Fishing from the reef when the sea conditions allow. Safe family swimming in the lagoon or take to the surfboards. Castlepoint Golf course is only a 10-minute drive away. A well-stocked shop provides the basics and takeaway meals available or dine at the Castle Point Hotel (Whakataki Hotel) adjacent to the Golf club. You need to leave the place clean and tidy.
