Welcome to Wylie's Retreat - your lakefront getaway!

This family-friendly home is perfect for family vacations or large groups visiting Charlotte.

This 6 bedroom, 4.5 bath, 4,500 sq ft home offers it all! Enjoy direct lakefront access complete with paddle boards and kayaks for you to enjoy. In the evening, unwind by the fire pit or pamper yourself in the hot tub. We also provide a variety of games and toys to keep the little ones (& big ones) entertained throughout your stay.

Wylie's Retreat features a main house with 4 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, a kitchen, living room, and a detached bonus house featuring 2 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, a game room, and an office space.

FRONT GATES

Wylie's Retreat is a gated home.
There are two automatic gates located at the front of the home.
The first gate on the right when you arrive is the ENTRANCE gate.
The second gate on the right when you arrive is the EXIT gate.

TO ENTER - You will receive a gate code to enter on the keypad.

TO EXIT - Please follow the directions listed at the property and in the digital guidebook sent to you to exit properly.

PLEASE REVIEW THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION PRIOR TO YOUR STAY AND CONTACT YOUR HOST IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.

#1. YOU MAY NOT USE THE KAYAKS AND PADDLE BOARDS UNLESS YOU HAVE AGREED TO THE WAIVER.

#2. DO NOT USE THE INDOOR FIREPLACE.

#3. DO NOT TOUCH, TAMPER WITH, OR USE THE BOAT.

#4. USE DOCK AT YOUR OWN RISK.

#5. SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK.

#6. USE SEVERE CAUTION WHEN WALKING AROUND THE PROPERTY. THERE ARE NATURAL DEVIATIONS IN GRADING THAT CAN RESULT IN INJURY IF NOT CAREFUL.

#7. Please do not make large fires in the fire pit. Please do not leave warm or hot embers in the fire pit when not using it.

#8. If you bring more guests than are reflected on your reservation, unfortunately you may be asked to leave without a refund.

#9. Please note there is a $250 pet fee, which includes up to two pets. Only dogs and cats are allowed. If droppings from pets outside are not cleaned up, additional $100 will be charged to your reservation.

#10. No large gatherings or events allowed unless discussed and approved prior to booking with host.

#11. We have security cameras monitoring the entrance gate, exit gate, front door, garden, main deck, and side back door for your 24/7 protection.

#12. When not using the hot tub, please keep cover on. DO NOT PUT SOAP IN THE HOT TUBS. If soap is in the hot tub upon check-out, additional cleaning fees will be charged to your reservation.

#13. Please dispose of trash in tied trash bags in the garbage cans outside. We kindly ask our guests to aim to use no more than 1 trash bag every two days. Please be mindful not to exceed six bags of trash during your stay. Our team incurs an additional fee for disposing of any excess trash, and we aim to minimize this to respect their time and efforts. Thank you for your cooperation!

#14. It is highly recommended you purchase travel insurance and review our cancellation policy prior to booking your reservation with us. No refund will be issued for circumstances outside of hosts control including, but not limited to, inclemate weather, health-related circumstance, unforeseen circumstance, or extenuating circumstances.

#15. After 48 hours from booking your reservation, we do not accept alterations to your reservation dates unless you are extending your stay.

#16. No smoking allowed. We reserve the right to charge a $2,000 smoke damage fee if there is any noticeable smell of smoke or smoke damage to the home or items in the home.

#17. Wi-Fi in our property is dependent on weather conditions.

We strive to provide our guests with a comfortable and enjoyable stay, and that includes reliable Wi-Fi access. However, we want to be upfront about the potential for Wi-Fi disruptions due to weather.

#18. The minimum age to book is 25 years old.

#19. Our hours of operation are from 10 AM to 8 PM Eastern Time. Any messages received outside of these hours will be responded to as soon as we are back on! For current guests- In case of an emergency, please refer to the emergency contact tab in your guidebook.

Our lake front home is a fortunate haven surrounded by the wonders of nature. However, it's important to keep in mind that various critters call our neighborhood home. Although we have an exceptional cleaning team and make every effort to keep them away, we cannot guarantee that they won't occasionally make an appearance. You can assist in minimizing the chances of such encounters by promptly cleaning up any crumbs or spills, and securely disposing of trash in the designated cans outside.

It’s likely you won’t see your host during your stay which allows you more privacy and convenience. However, we are always here anytime you need to reach out. If you need anything or have questions, just send a message via VRBO and I’ll be quick to respond!

Great spot for family vacation
Excellent spot for a quiet, comfy family lake vacation. The cove is really lovely, peaceful and safe. Lake access is from a very well-maintained dock and walkway. Kayaks, stand-up paddleboard, many sizes of life vests were super helpful. Ideal for families. Big property in a quiet, private area. We liked that there are actually two buildings (one is an apartment above the garage), separated by the driveway. There are a lot of great things about the house. Bedrooms are big, beds are super comfy. Porches and decks are really nice; great furniture, fans and shades. We spend most of our time outside on the deck. Deck dining table and chairs, grill, etc. are in great shape. Just note that there are some funky things about the house as well. The two main bathrooms are very tight with an unusual layout, requiring you to walk into the hallway to use the sink. Upstairs shower leaks actively into the downstairs shower below; clearly been that way for some time. I get that this would be a major repair and would take a while to schedule and undergo. Both showers work great, but if you're trying to shower during or after someone showers upstairs, you're going to get water from above raining on you through the ceiling light fixture. Kitchen needs baking dishes. Couch needs repair. Garage apt smells very musty. Gate doesn't function on one side, open all the time. That said, we really would stay again! Rental co was extremely responsive and great.

Family Labor Day Get Away
The house was perfect for our family and we had plenty of room! There was a lot to do on the property and in the lake. We enjoyed our stay very much! We found we did not have enough linens, and we were glad we brought our own beach towels. We had a lot of issues getting in the gate, and we were glad the maintenance man was there to let us in. We had a big issue with upstairs shower leaking in the downstairs shower, and the bathroom in the extra house had mold in it. The WIFI wasn’t very stronger for a house of 12 people. There wasn’t a coffee pot and we ended up buying one and leaving it at the house for the next renters. The Keurig wasn’t what we typically use, but we like a brewed pot. Overall it was a great vacation and we were pleased. This is just some constructive feedback.

From the communication to the beautiful views to the absolute peacefulness this is a must stay residence! When you walk in you will be welcomed by the most amazing aroma and cleanest home ever! The property screams luxury with the gated property! Being in this amazing cove on the water was breathtaking to say the least!
