„Room in a bad shape, but the bathroom was the most terrifying I ever experienced. A very very bad old urinary kind of smell. The toilet lid fell all the time down and a lot of foreign hair on the bathroom floor. Went back to the lady behind the bar and asked for another room mentioning the bad smell. According to her, no other room available.“

„During a short holiday visit I stayed at the Oak at Dewlish. I was welcomed at the door and felt home right from the start. The room was tidy and clean, quiet and homely. In the evening I enjoyed the food and beer in the pub, delicious. They even provided a small breakfast bag in the morning as I had to leave early in the morning. Looking forward to next stay“

„We only stayed one night in a double room with en-suite in Hattie’s House which is a building across the car park and had a wonderful evening meal in the pub itself.The interior of the pub was exceptionally warm and inviting. The breakfast was good also.“

„Fantastisches, sehr charmantes Hotel, eingebettet in hügeliger Landschaft. Sehr schöne, gemütliche und saubere Zimmer. Uns gefiel dazu der herrliche Pub, das dort brennende Feuer, die familiäre Atmosphäre und der Englische Charakter dazu. Hätte aus einem Miss Marple Film stammen können.“

„Das Hotel hat ein gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Freundlicher Empfang, Zimmer sehr schön, Bad und Betreuung in Ordnung, nur die Anfahrt ist selbst mit Navigationsgerät abenteuerlich! Da in der näheren Umgebung nur Natur ist, wäre es gut geeignet als Zwischenstation oder für Liebhaber des Landlebens und des Pferdesports. Ausflüge nach Dorchester, Weymouth u.a. sind gut möglich.“

„Lovely friendly welcome from the hosts. Pre-ordered breakfast for the following day and then settled down for the evening in a huge room with comfy seats, a big bed and a lovely bright and clean bathroom. Breakfast was just as promised, fresh, local and really tip top. Sat chatting with the hosts over breakfast watching the horse liveries turning out for the morning. Very very pleasant. “

„Zimmer und Bett okay + sauber. Teppich im Bad ...??? Außenfassade des Hotels abschreckend! Leistung für den Preis völlig überteuert. Wir haben für 2 1/2 Personen über hundert Pfund inkl. Frühstück bezahlt. Die Hälfte wäre angemessen gewesen. Kein Parkplatz verfügbar! Frühstück war okay. Kurzum: Nie wieder zu dem Preis.“

„The property is beautiful--very historic and full of character. It had just the right amount of modern touches to be comfortable without sacrificing historic charm. I loved eating in the old dining room--very good breakfasts--and being able to walk in the lovely garden. There are also 2 very good restaurants nearby for dinner.“

Free water and organic tea in the room. Nice pub. The value for this B&B is fantastic! Next time we will stay longer.“
