DOME on the Hill

“DOME on the Hill” is a unique geodesic dome home which sits on 6.51 acres near Chillicothe in south-central Ohio. This 3200 sq. ft. home has 5 bedrooms, 3 ½ baths, 2 living quarters, dining area, huge kitchen, and laundry room. It was designed and erected near a major highway making it easily accessible to shopping, restaurants, and local attractions, yet it is completely private – nestled on top of a hill surrounded by trees. The large deck with patio furniture & lighted grill, 6-person waterfall hot tub, and fire pit with log benches add the final touches to this property, which is perfect for the nature lover, families and friends on vacation, those who need a work retreat, or the person who just wants some quiet time. “Dome on the Hill” is truly a secluded sanctuary. A lovely experience
This is an amazing place, and Melody is an awesome host. Everything is beautiful, spotless, and thoughtfully appointed. The pictures online are great, but experiencing it in person is way better. The kitchen is fully equipped, and everything else you need is in abundance (towels, blankets, ideas for what to do). The downstairs is pretty much a separate suite, would be great for a couple with small kids or for tweens/teens. Truly a great place for family to get together. It is surrounded by lovely fields, and I only wish we had had time to use the fire pit and hot tub! And Melody baked brownies for us!! You will leave here feeling refreshed and ready to come back :)

Meticulously thoughtful home
My friends and I were blown away how convenient, well stocked, and thoughtful everything here was during our stay. From the multiple coffee stations down to the fact that the knives were actually sharp. What a beautiful and unique home! We saw both deer and turkey on the grounds. Also, the hot tub is phenomenal!!

Family in the Dome
Where do I start, my wife and I came from AZ to see our daughter from NC and our grandson and great grandchildren in Ohio. We picked location due to grandchildren and we are so glad we picked the DOME. The most pleasant experience we could imagine from the accommodations to the fantastic host. My wife and I travel extensively, and our host Melody made this one of most memorable stays, especially for our family. If you are ever in the Chillicothe area and looking for a very relaxing and pleasant stay, pick the DOME and say hi to Melody for us.

Travel to the secret gnome home!!!
I have stay at many places during our business/ women retreats. The dome on the hill is definitely the most unique. Our host Melody met us at the entrance which was hidden away. It felt like we were traveling to a secret gnome home with the open meadow and surrounding forest. The space of the doors and the dome itself was amazing. But the amazement did not stop there. Melody led us on a tour while telling us about the dome's history. She is soo thoughtful. Her special touches really made us feel at home. She really is a one woman show. She gives tours, cleans and made yummy cookie brownies for us. We, The Salty Girls, loved our stay and plan to have our next business retreat here. Only negative was we did not have enough time to work on improving our trade skills of massage, reflexology and holistic modalities. It inspired us to reach out to local vacation rentals around our area of Champaign County to offer our services. It really wound have been peaceful to do outside yoga with all the scenery and privacy. We could not even here cars from a nearby road, only the tree leaves swaying. On our last day, a rainstorm blew in and we were in awe as we watched the lighting. And still felt safe. Melody even reached out to check on us.

The Dome is amazing
The house was everything we hoped for and more! The house was furnished with everything we needed for our weekend stay and there was enough space to fit all eight of us comfortably. Melody was an amazing host who meet us at the property and gave my group a great tour of the house. She also kept good line of communication via text to make sure our stay was perfect. My only complaint is that we didn't book the house for an extra night! If you are looking to book a nice place with a beautiful property to get away with friends/family, than look no further than the Dome on the Hill!

Fantastic Oasis
This experience was all we could have hoped for. Lots of land for the kids to run around. A unique house that was fascinating for all of us. Nice hot tub. Very well equipped inside. It's hard to find anything even slightly negative to say about our experience. The place is secluded, but still not that far from downtown/services. My kids want to come back every year!

Unique getaway
Our family stayed at the DOME house and had a wonderful time! The house is so cool, inside and out - really a unique experience. The host Melody went above and beyond! We enjoyed hiking around the property, soaking in the hot tub, roasting hot dogs in the fire pit. The house is very spacious inside with tons of natural light. Excellent getaway!! This home is so unique in design and comfortable!
This home was absolutely perfect for us! Each family had their own space/floor. The host is extremely sweet and accommodating. She made sure we had everything we needed; even had delicious warm brownies for us on our arrival. She met us there and showed us the house! The beds were extremely comfortable, everything was very clean. We had all the comforts of home. This home is so uniquely laid out. Looks smaller from the outside but very roomy inside. We are from 3 different states and this home was absolutely perfect for us. This home is definitely at the top of our destinations to get together again. We will definitely come again. DOME Time is the Best Getaway
Another fantastic long weekend at the Dome. Since our first stay in October 2023, we've made going to the Dome part of our busy work decompressing ritual. My wife and I, along with five other friends, were looking forward to another trip to the Dome as soon as 2023 served, and for good reasons. Melody is an excellent host who takes hospitality and comfort seriously. The Dome is always clean, well stocked, and comfy. You're simultaneously in the middle of nowhere but only 12 minutes from pizza & bowling. I can't recommend a stay here enough even if it might mean more booked-up weekends we can't stay at the Dome. You won't have a bad time!
