Welcome to Deer Track Acres! (Currently, road to cabin is OPEN to CARS, groomed for Snowmobiles/Tracked ORV or walking in WINTER).
Rustic and cozy A-frame cabin in the woods, on 3.5 acres, only 18 min. from downtown Cle Elum, a few miles more to Roslyn & Ronald. View the stars at night, have coffee on a deck in the morning, while viewing deer and turkey roaming through the property! With quads (summer) or access property with snowmobiles in winter. Ride right out onto the trail from the property, into the 100,000 acre LT Murray forest. Green Dot Trail is well marked. (In winter, trail info, parking pass, and map is sent to guest, for your car/trailer). Cle Elum city roads are plowed when it snows. It's approx.1/2 mile to the property from the lodge & seasonal pool.
Being an A-frame, this is a tiny house! Do view the photos! Older homes in Cle Elum do tend to be a bit quirky & this is like glamping! Guests rate it highly, it's very cozy!
Sleeps 6, two to a bed. If that doesn't work for your party, you may need a larger home. Notice from photos, there is limited head room in some areas.
If you are looking to see how far this is from a destination, just type Sky Meadows Ranch into your search bar. This is a "recreational" community with an HOA. Seasonal community pool. Guests may use with signed liability waiver.
Fees: No snow & housekeeping fee is $135. In winter housekeeping fee is $160 for housekeeping to arrive on their snowmobile(s) or snowshoes to clean. Can go up without written notice.
Due to rising HOA costs, there is a $20.00 community fee per stay. This contributes to road maintenance, road grooming, trash, parking lots, water usage, community pool etc. Please conserve water & electricity! Re-use towels etc. Help the environment, beautiful woods & it helps to keep nightly fees from going up! Property is on septic.
If you want to bring your dog, please see pet rules/fee below.
MINIMUM/MAX NIGHT STAYS: We have some seasonal "minimum" stay requirements. Spring break, winter holiday, New Years Day & 3 day weekends, such as Martin Luther King, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Columbus Day, Labor Day & Veterans Day are all 3 nights stay. Thanksgiving, 4th of July, is a 4 night minimum stay. Unless only fewer nights are available. Max stay 6 nights at a time, without prior approval.
CAMERAS: Driveway cameras on property for weather/road conditions, safety, security & to see the deer, turkey or other wild animals! One is located outside on back deck, to view bottom half of driveway, the other on the corner of the garage outside. Shows the top part of driveway. There is 1 camera on the other side of the house. This is where deer usually walk through. Please do not unplug sync module or disconnect cameras. Doing so can result in canceling your reservation and a $250 fine.
CHECK IN/OUT DIRECTIONS:
1. CHAIN ON GATE: (Summer): When you drive up to the home there may be a yellow chain across the driveway. Unhook on the right hand side, take chain to left side of driveway, wrap around the sign edge or lay on the ground to the "side" of the road. NEVER leave chain on the "ground" across the driveway! It can break & costs $30+ to replace. Please hook back across driveway at the end of your stay, (if no guest booked after you). We have found that during snowy conditions, it's best to leave the gate unlatched, so that snowmobiles can drive right in without stopping. There is a large satellite dish just to the left of the driveway, which is a great landmark that you are at the correct home. A-frame home is farther back on the property away from the road. 2. WATER: HOA RULES - water must be turned off if home is vacant 24 hours or longer.
TO TURN ON WATER: Look towards street from the house, greenhouse is to the LEFT. Go to the end of the greenhouse & keep walking PAST it on the path towards the street. You will find the water handle with address #970 and ON/OFF indicators on the pipe. "TURN" the lever to the "ON" position. Do not pull up on the lever, just turn the lever left or right. During winter, it may be covered with a can, so as not to be buried by snow. Shovel at the house if needed. Please be sure to turn the water "OFF", unless there is a guest coming directly after you. Feel free to ask host.
3. HEATERS: There are 2 wall heaters. One is by the front door, the other is behind the desk in the living room. Please turn the thermostats to 55 degrees in the cooler months upon leaving and close the door on bedroom loft & study during cold season. We need all the heat to be directed to the bathroom & kitchen, so pipes won't freeze.
FIREWOOD: There is firewood in the woodshed. There is a hatchet & sharpener in the shed for chopping kindling. It heats the entire house. Bring sticks or paper for getting it started. There may be a couple of tumbleweed firestarter's to help with the 1st couple of fires. There is a firewood holder, not to be used to carry firewood or to take outside.
4. COFFEE, TEA, HOT CHOC: Feel free to use, & other food supplies while there. If you do use a lot of the coffee items, please replace, if possible, so the next guests will have coffee. Please let me know if I run out of anything! You can leave dried or canned food items, & use what is there. But do take your perishables out the fridge when you leave. Non perishable items ok to leave. Just ask host if you have a question.
BBQ- The fire risk can be quite high in the woods. Please check the fire risk on the community board driving in & use with caution. Pull BBQ away from wall towards edge of deck. BBQ is gas/propane & ok to use, cautiously. Please clean the grill after use for next guest & TURN OFF the propane. Put the cover back on after the grill is cool to touch. During a burn ban indoor wood burning stove may not be used. Jurisdiction is Kittitas County.
5. CONDITION of HOME:
There is NO DISHWASHER, so please wash all of your dishes before leaving and take your trash to the dumpster on your way out, (across from the lodge, on the right hand side of the road).
Your choice to leave beds unmade, (so we can tell it's been used) or... leave used sheets & towels in collapsible laundry basket, next to washer/dryer in hall. Leave comforters/quilts in rooms. Housekeeping loves when you start a load of towels, but please do not leave in washer unless guest is coming right after you. We can't be sure of housekeepers schedule to make it to cabin. Start dryer cycle, put on max dry & you can leave in the dryer.
Please Leave COMFORTERS/QUILTS in the bedrooms. Please use a TOP & BOTTOM sheet on unmade beds (sofa & futon). Keeps fabric clean for next guest. FUTON/COUCH - Roll the memory foam bed toppers you have used and put back, behind the futon bed or sofa. Please don't bunch up. Usually only 1 housekeeper is present for cleaning & it can be hard for one person to put mattress toppers back in place. Get your guests to help you. The FUTON & upstairs bed is on FURNITURE SLIDERS for easy movement. No need to lift up or move off of sliders.
FUTON: To use futon as a bed, refer to directions on the wall. Use a top & bottom sheet to make the bed. Using sheets keeps the futon fabric clean for the next guest.
COUCH: On the couch there is a strap in front and you pull up and towards you. Linens & pillows are in the storage area of the long section of the couch. You can store the couch back cushions there when couch is in bed position. Lift up on the long end to open storage.
6. TRASH: Please take your trash. Trash bags can be dropped into the dumpster, located across the lodge, on your way out. Think of it as part of the adventure! During winter, if you can't make it out with your trash, you can leave it bagged inside the home and housekeeping will take out or store in the garage.
PET RULES: Well behaved dogs are welcome & allowed on a case by case basis. Pets are not allowed to be left alone in the home. You must CRATE or take with you. There is a medium size crate with pad available to use, upon request. (Stored in the garage). There are dog blankets in the hall pantry to cover furniture, plus bowls, toys etc. High quality dog biscuits in canister & when I can make them, homemade in freezer. Take a recipe! Please send PHOTOS of your pets with breed, size/weight, temperament, training etc. Your pet fee does not cover cleaning up after your pet. Shedding, hair on furniture, pet pee (Hope there is none!), and any other spots must be cleaned before you check out. Housekeeping only takes care of the standard cleaning of the home. If there is excessive cleaning you will be charged an additional fee upwards of $35.00 that will go directly to housekeeping. Any damage done by a pet, you are responsible for the full cost of repair. Bringing your pet means you have seen & agree to these rules & conditions. I love for you to enjoy your dogs and have them with you, but it has to be comfortable for everybody concerned and the next guests coming to stay. Pet fee is $15.00 a night per dog. Up to 2 dogs allowed. (Reasonable cost considering the cost of boarding or pet sitting is much higher). Bringing an unauthorized pet can be grounds for immediate cancelation of your reservation and a $250 fine.
It is highly recommended that you buy trip insurance. A Change of weather, air quality, cancelled flight, closed pass, or other emergency, as to not being able to make it, bugs or spiders are not refundable. Please read refund policy before booking. Cancelation to free up dates must be done on guest end. We can try to rebook to possibly refund for those dates that rebook.
This is a private home that the owner also uses. Please treat the home as you would if you were a guest at your best friends house. I love sharing my home & staying here as well with the beauty of the woods & the area. It's very peaceful & tranquil. Do enjoy what the area has to offer and come back again!
