After five years, this work of art is finally complete! This eco friendly building was mostly constructed with materials from our forest. Nearly 200 volunteers
had a hand in helping over the years in its construction. It is built with cordwood masonry, round and unique. We are a working 225 acre organic farm and homestead that grows much of our own food. You will love our friendly animals, volunteers and miles of hiking trails. This is a off grid solar powered cabin with an outhouse nearby.
The space
The Enchanted Cabin has a fire pit and an outdoor sun shower. Firewood is for sale at the wood stand by the fire pit for $10 a bundle. Kindling and fire starter are provided complimentary. We will also have seasonal items for sale which you can inquire about when you book. Through our passion for excellent seasonal vegetarian cuisine and our love for our farm animal friends, we hope to be an inspiring example of sustainable homesteading.
The cabin has minimal water with very low pressure for washing dishes and showering but does not have drinking water. Be sure to bring your own. Containers can be filled up at a sink behind our barn, however this is well water and not treated in any way. We drink this water but we are not supposed to serve it to the public without chlorinating it. The 5 gallon jugs provided for washing dishes and filling camp shower bag can be refilled at the barn. Msg us and we’ll show you.
This is a rustic cabin located deep in the forest and you might see small creatures, like mice or chipmunks, or insects. If you are afraid of insects or small forest creatures don’t book!
Both being avid outdoor enthusiasts, we enjoy encouraging people to reconnect with nature and the food they are consuming by experiencing our farm and forest.
The bathroom is a Porta potty. Unfortunately we had to remove our quaint outhouses due to health dept regulations in Albany county.
