Serene Hideaway near nature and the Little Spokane River

Peace, serenity, deer, moose, birds, river sounds, and privacy. Enjoy a private entrance to this daylight basement guest suite.

Access to the guest suite has a portion of the walkway that is grass with a slight slope. In the winter months there may be snow.

House trained well-behaved dogs are welcome too! There is a severe cat allergy, so unfortunately NO CATS are allowed.

A home away from home. The guest suite contains a large bedroom with a king size bed. There is also space for one or two cots. Please let us know if you need them and we will make them available.

The living/dining area has a Flexsteel couch, electric recliner, two chairs, and a 75" screen TV with Xfinity Flex streaming and high-speed internet.

The kitchen is unfinished and ugly, but full sized and fully functional, just not finished and unfortunately there is no dishwasher. There is an RO faucet attached to the sink for the best water you will ever taste. Also in the kitchen area, there is a full-size washer and dryer. Plans are in the works to finish the kitchen and second bedroom.

The full size bathroom with tub/shower has been updated.

We are upgrading our land and occasionally there will be a dump truck off-loading dirt and debris during normal business days. He is very quick, but sometimes we do not know when he is coming.

We live on-site upstairs; we work outside of the home and have to be up early those days, we try to walk as lightly as possible, but consider this apartment living, and you will hear occasional footsteps and noises.

Walk the loop, or sit outside on your private patio and listen to the river (which can be heard, but the flow may vary depending on the season). Maybe see our resident eagle in flight and laugh at the antics of the squirrels. Watch deer, moose, turkeys and many birds. 

Enjoy peace, serenity, and nature. Quiet and calming - we call it our hideaway.

Our cleaning fee is purposely minimal as we do our own cleaning. It is very much appreciated, since there is no dishwasher, that you wash your own dishes and let them dry in the rack. This allows us the time to provide an exceptionally clean space.

Get A Way in Spokane
The Property is very nice, listing was 100% accurate (actually 95% accurate, the reference to can hear the river is a reach… way to far from the river to hear it). Very clean and comfortable lower level. The reference to a BBQ should mention it is a small tabletop mini BBQ, not a big enough unit to cook even a small dinner for 2 people, would definitely consider staying again at this property.

Lovely peaceful space
I was in Spokane for a wedding and this was the perfect space to get some work done and a great night of sleep between events. Hosts were great, had everything I needed and lots of fun wildlife watching. Highly recommend if you have plans in the area.

We could not have asked for a better place to stay while visiting family near Cusick. The property is private, immaculately clean, a very comfortable bed, fully equipped bath. Heather had warned us that the kitchen was a work in progress, which was fine since we didn’t cook much there. It too was fully equipped right down to coffee and creamer we will definitely stay there again.

I couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay or a nicer host. Everything was extremely clean and comfy. Loved all the windows and the front doors that let not only plenty of light in but a wonderful breeze. The back lawn was private and quiet. We woke up the first morning to deer in the yard, can't ask for anything better. Our host was absolutely the best and even forgave us for barging in on her when we accidentally used the wrong door....oops, sorry. I will definitely stay there again, we had a lovely visit

Family Friendly with Beauty of Nature
Heather was heartwarming and such a Great communicator. She went above/beyond to accommodate us! This property has all the comforts of home. The king size bed was so comfortable and allowed for a comfortable night sleep. The kitchen was stocked well with appliances, everyday use items. Also, the kitchen has windows that pull you into nature. We saw several deer and wild turkeys grazing along property. Went for a walk around the neighborhood and was greeted/welcomed by many friendly dogs as we walked by their properties. The whole property was so beautiful and tranquil. It was so Peaceful/Quiet you could take in nature/song of various birds and feel your own heartbeat & become one with your thoughts. Our time here was one I will always remember and cherish. So Thankful for our stay and our Great Host Heather. As we departed we were even greeted by a family of deer as if to bid us farewell & good tidings. Thank You Heather for your Warm Heart, beautiful stay in your home! You forever touched our hearts!

Very clean and functional. The kitchen is a converted laundry room but is well-stocked with appliances, dishes, and a variety of utensils. I especially appreciated the reverse-osmosis water source. Windows look out to a private backyard.

Best location, most beautiful ever😊
The best I can say is OMG! This place was so serene and beautiful. We so much enjoyed everything about the area. Home was very comfortable, clean, and everything we needed, ( items I forgot to bring) were available for us to use. The trees, deer, squirrels, were so awesome, we even got chased by a goose!! When we visit Spokane next year, this will be the first place that I will be checking availability. Thank you Heather for mailing my glasses also, I looked everywhere for them. Perfect for our honeymoon getaway.
This was a very nice place to stay that was away from the loud hustle and bustle of the city. We felt very relaxed here. Seen a doe and her fawns, and heard wild turkeys in the neighborhood. It was nice to sit outside and hear the running water of the river/steam. Overall we would stay here again in a heartbeat. Only thing that would make it better, once the kitchen is finished and the walkway down to the entrance is completed. Nothing close to being a deal breaker for us. Owners were on the ball when responding. 👍👍

Perfect Stopover During Our Roadtrip
Simple apartment that was exactly what we needed for a single night stay on a cross country road trip. Quiet area off the beaten path which made it nice and easy to walk our dogs after spending a long day in the car. Well furnished, great communication from the hosts, and would definitely stay again.
