Lovely Cottage
We had a lovely experience. Great quiet neighborhood. The cottage is on the property as the owner, but it is private with its own driveway. We enjoyed breakfast on the screened porch. It was just as described and very clean. The host was very responsive and accommodating. Will definitely stay again if in the area. Highly recommend. Exceeded our expectations.

Cozy and Charming!
This property is a beautiful little house rather like a large tiny house. It has an upstairs loft with two comfortable twins and a room downstairs with a soft king bed. The sheets and towels are very soft, with lots of extras, and the property is very clean. I travelled with another female coworker and felt that the property was safe. It has rustic charm but with all the modern amenities that any traveller could want. If I’m in Columbia again, I will defiiitely stay here again!

Beautiful home; perfect for family
This home is so much prettier inside than the listing photos show. It is a gorgeous restored home and it’s clear the owners have gone to lengths to decorate it suitably and add thoughtful touches. We only stayed here two nights, but we hope it’s available when we come back to the area next. If you’re staying in the Lexington/ Lake Murray area, it’s only a short drive away and secluded on a beautiful property. Highly recommend.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Selwood Cottage in Columbia, SC! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with stunning scenery and a pristine, well-maintained property. The cottage was immaculately clean and cozy and had all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. Kristen, the host, was fantastic—her communication was prompt and helpful throughout our visit. She truly went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, even leaving thoughtful touches that made us feel right at home. My sister and I met here to visit our aunt who lives in Irmo. If you get the chance to stay here, I highly recommend it The place is a true treat. The pictures accurately represent the inside of the home and the outside is very peaceful One of the things I really liked was that they have everything labeled No second-guessing what light switch does or where things are stored in cabinets and drawers One of my biggest turn off when staying someplace is the smell. This place smells heavenly If I’m back in the area, I will definitely try staying here again I’ve also shared the booking information with my family who lives in Irmo In case they have visitors in the future from out of state

Lovely Cottage
The cottage was everything we hoped for and more!! Beautifully decorated, very comfortable bed and linens, plenty of space for us and a screened porch. We had everything we needed for our stay and it was close to the lake and some parks. Checkin and out was very easy, there were coffee pads and creamer for the keurig and plenty of dishes and cups, towels etc. Communication with the owners was easy and our only regret was we couldn’t stay longer!! Highly recommend this adorable cottage!

Quaint Place and Certainly Historic!
We definitely enjoyed our stay! It was a cute place and certainly tucked away. It is on the owners lot so you don’t really have the “place to yourself” but the cottage is your own. The owner has a house next to it and an airstream out back with guests as well. The cottage itself is nice and it certainly is “historic”. The floors are probably original which is great, but they are VERY loud. We have a 6 year old who we lay down around 7:00 and then my wife and I stay up till around 10:30. We could barely walk 2 steps without the floor giving out a loud CREAKKKK! Then he would wake up and be like “what was that!?” So I do not recommend this place if that would be your situation. Also there is no dining room table. So there is no where to sit inside to have dinner with your family or friends. There is only a couch to sit on. Outside on the porch there is a small table with 4 very old chairs to sit at. Also the two two twin beds upstairs are not very comfortable. They are VERY springy and can feel it as you sleep. Hopefully owner sees this and maybe buys a new box spring / mattress for those beds upstairs. However…. The master bed was SOOO comfortable. If they could match the comfort of the beds upstairs with the comfort of the ned downstairs that would be AMAZING! Also there is no dishwasher (which we knew) , but would’ve been nice since we had some meals there as well. Appliances are a bit outdated and there is ONLY a keurig and not an actual full coffee maker. Hope this helps!

One of our favorites.
This is our second time staying at the Selwood Cottage and it won’t be our last. We travel a lot for work and this is exactly the type of place we wish was in every city we visit! Beautiful safe neighborhood, good location, clean, king bed, easy check-in, plenty of towels and blankets, lights left on for us, dog friendly, enough parking for our truck and trailer, and affordable!! Thank you for having us again! We’ll be back in September.
