St Christopher Triplex -Corner House

Converted from a church to a home. This historic property is the Perfect place to house traveling workers or a family.
Centrally located in Ingleside, Tx between Portland and Port Aransas. Perfect location for coming in town to work at nearby plants or getting some beach time. Plenty of room for your boat or big trucks and all of your family or friends for an affordable trip to the coast.
** Absolutely no animals allowed due to the proximity of the adjoining units.

The space
Located near downtown Ingleside, which is about 15 minutes from the ferry. This is a 3 bed, 2 bath unit that is part of a triplex. All entrances are completely separate from the other units though. The exterior is not attractive, please don't judge this book by the cover. If you like the spaciousness and price, you will find that the siding doesn't matter.
The unit is undergoing an external remodel but the inside is comfortable and you’ll feel more at home than a hotel and won’t be interacting with people sharing the kitchen. Safe, quiet area where you won’t have to worry about your vehicle overnight or while you’re in the beach.

You have full run of the house.

Other things to note
We are 9 miles from the ferry, approx a 15 min drive. Also a 15 min drive to Rockport. A good 25 min drive to North Beach. For your best beach experience I'd recommend you check out the city visitor center.
TheTV is a smart TV and we’ve supplied some dvds. You can bring your Firestick or Roku, there are ports on the TV.
This place is not attractive on the exterior, we chose to focus on the structure being sound and the interior being comfortable.
Give the place a chance; the building was originally a church that was converted into homes for the community.

Perfect little house
We came for a softball tournament. The house was close to everything we needed. The owner was easy to get in touch with. The house was perfect and we weren't all on top of each other like a hotel.

Good beds
If you’re looking for somewhere with just a bed then it’s a great place. Bring your own fork bc there is only one, there’s no remote for the ONE tv that’s in the house and the volume button keeps changing the input it was very frustrating. I had to go buy a roku bc we couldn’t get any channels. The “manual” that is left is kind of rude and off putting. The whole stay just had my husband in a bad mood the whole time because of all of the things. There’s a gap in the front door just many little things that add up. The thing that got me was that it’s advertised as $95 per night but then the cleaning fee the mandatory damage fee the owner fee then tax it comes out to $200 per night and I could have stayed at a NICE place for that. The owner did keep texting/emailing to check to make sure we got in so that was nice but they need to do some upgrades. If you’re going to charge that much make it worth it.

A semi-precious gem
This place has a lot going for it. If it were mine, I’d invest in 4-6” bed toppers, (master bedroom first), change out the burned/rusted through drip pans on the stove, use easy off to clear the cooked on spill on the range top around the front left burner and get updated pots and pans. The place sleeps six, but only has seats for four at the dining table. As retired handy-people, we see the potential and hope the owner is able to follow through with the intended improvements. Dropping the ceiling by the width of a 2x4 and covering the ceiling tiles would make a big difference in the energy bill and esthetics. The shape the floors are in made it easy to not feel awful about coming in sandy. We didn’t know which unit we had, and thinking the owner left the porch light on for us to the main unit, we walked in on a guest watching tv. (Ooops!😃, sorry if that was you!) All in all it was a fine landing pad and launch site for our coast vaycay. The best thing we felt it had going for it (beside the location, location, location !) is there are no shared bedroom walls. The teenagers were very glad for the DVD collection! We’d book this place again, and would gladly pay a higher nightly fee to see other guests commenting on improvements getting squared away.

A little deceiving
When we arrived, we were getting kids out of the car and there were people outside at the unit next door then a lady walks over and punches the code to our unit, walks in and starts looking around. No idea who she was as she didn’t introduce herself at first, she then tells us the unit hadn’t been cleaned. I said that was fine we were leaving for an excursion anyways. We get back and the housekeeper had come but I wouldn’t say the place was cleaned, just sheets changed mainly and there was a wad of hair left on the nightstand in one room. The unit was a solid unit, but the pictures are very deceiving in my opinion. Entry flooring is bubbling and wavy, there’s spots in the kitchen floor that are messed up too but the biggest issue to me was the showers. They are rusted and molded out. As I was showering a chunk of the shower wall that had rusted fell off into the shower floor. I did ask for a broom several times as I had 2 toddlers with us and wanted to clean up after ourselves, was told one was coming but never did. Not a big deal, I just wanted to clean up a bit. They did have the outside painted while we were there and it looks great! I hope the inside renovations will be coming soon as well, if those do happen, id be happy to stay again as it had a ton of space and was located in a good area.

Good family vacation
We had plenty of room for all of us and the property was in a good spot located close to any necessities like HEB and Walmart. Property owner was easy to talk to and the check in and out process was easy. Property is being renovated but in good shape considering that fact. Would definitely stay here again.

lovely simple home
We were visiting the beach, aquarium and museum. There were plenty of pans and utensils to prepare meals with the food we bought at the HEB down the street. There is also a laundromat and car wash nearby that served our needs, and the Bakery Cafe for breakfast on our way out of town. Loved staying in this quiet neighborhood.

Nice place, good location.
Upon arrival at 9 pm housekeeping had locked the door knob. Owners were very quick to respond and send someone over to unlock it. The next day we managed to lock ourselves out. They came over while we were enjoying the beach and replaced the knob. So you only have the key pad to lock and unlock door. Internet was slow to watch tv at night, but this property is being renovated, so hopefully that will be addressed in the future. Great location to beaches, Aquatic Center and Aransas National Wildlife Refuge. Will be back next year.
