The front desk, restaurant, and housecleaning staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. All areas of the hotel were very clean. We stayed 3 nights, and the second evening was inconvenient. Our toilet drained slowly from the start, until about the fourth use when it overflowed. We were offered a new room, which we moved into quickly because we wanted to swim. This is when we realized we forgot our swimsuits on the back of the bathroom door and had locked the keys in the room. Tried to call the front desk, but the phone didn’t work so I went back downstairs. We were told maintenance would be right up to let us in. 30 minutes later and nobody had come. In the meantime my son noticed that the smoke detector’s door was open with no batteries in it. I called the front desk with my cell. When maintenance finally came they said they didn’t know if they had that size battery but would check. When I asked how long it would be because we wanted to swim, he said he would just fix the detector in the morning. I expressed that I wasn’t comfortable with this, so we waited for him to return with batteries and install them. In total, this took about 2 hours out of our evening. The next day I requested some sort of compensation for the inconveniences and we were offered IHG points on my account. It is disappointing that they didn’t offer this when we had to switch rooms.
Breakfast and dinner were good. The pool was clean. The hotel — rooms, pool area, lobby, restaurant— were cold.
