Ruth’s Cottage is located in the heart of historic downtown. This is where South Florida charm and tradition blends with the comforts of modern luxury. All of Delray is within your reach, but, you’ll find it’s difficult to leave the comforts of this home for long. This is the finest neighborhood in classic Delray Beach. Rich in both history and amenities, Ruth’s is the ultimate Delray experience.

Ruth’s is family-friendly. You’ll have access to games, pool toys, play pens and highchairs if needed. The washer and dryer in the laundry room are brand new – but the basketball hoop in the pool has seen many, many championship battles!

The uncommon pleasure of this secluded paradise is located in the middle of the simple chic that is Delray Beach. Buttoned down luxury is extended throughout an expansive floor plan. Our remodeled kitchen, family room and patio provide an opportunity to gather and enjoy this paradise together. And, the three bedrooms, living room and dining area provide seclusion and privacy as needed for quiet times during your stay. The jewel of the property is a heated, 20’x 30’ walk-in pool surrounded by a tropical garden.

This house is located North of Atlantic Avenue and East of Lake Ida with easy access to highways, attractions and downtown Delray Beach, a popular, award-winning beach town.

The main street in Delray Beach is Atlantic Avenue, and it spans all the way down to a pristine beach. The ‘Ave’ is popular for visitors and locals thanks to the many art galleries, upscale shops, fine restaurants and nightly entertainment. Seasonal events for the downtown area feature Delray Beach Fashion Week, Savor the Avenue, the Delray Affair and the annual 100-foot Christmas tree.

Delray Beach is located between Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale Florida, and it’s the ideal destination for a vacation with your friends and family any time of year. Backyard Oasis!
The location was literally 5 min to anything we did but we stayed in the backyard and in the pool most of our 2 weeks in Delray Beach. It was like a tropical oasis. The amenities were top notch, the place was spotless and adorably decorated. We wish we could have stayed longer!

Steve's home was amazing! The layout was perfect, the kitchen stocked, and it was very CLEAN! We love the Lake Ida are of Delray as it is quiet, walkable, yet accessible to downtown. The backyard was so serene and the perfect size, and we hope to stay again!

Picture perfect
The only downside was the hot, humid weather. The house is stunning along with the saltwater pool. We spent the majority of our time in the backyard grilling and swimming. I would highly recommend this house and the host.

Fabulous time at Ruth’s Cottage in Delray Beach
My husband and I had a fabulous month at Ruth’s Cottage. We can’t say enough about the house and its owners. Steve and Reesa have provided a house with all you could possibly need — an abundance of quality towels, nice furnishings and a beautiful backyard and pool — besides many other amenities. We didn’t need to ask for anything because they already thought of everything! Thank you Steve and Reesa — we hope to be back again next year. Chris and Bob (and Lucy too)

A Perfect Vacation

The hosts have supplied the home with everything you need and then some, I can't think of a thing that was missing. The pool is a major highlight! Outstanding brand new property
Stephen, the host, was absolutely phenomenal. The house was spectacular, spotless, brand new with all new appliances and exceeded every expectation. Being a new vrbo, Stephen was open to getting anything new for the house that they didn’t have but they had everything! The backyard was great for entertaining with a bbq and outdoor tv! The pool was heated and had color changing lights which our kids loved. The house had a pack and play for one of our babies. Every bedroom has a tv. Everything in the home was brand new. The neighborhood was quiet, beautiful and family friendly. The drive to downtown delray was super quick, great location. We would stay here over and over again.

Fantastic home!
Steve, the new owner is one of the most gracious, kind and thoughtful people I have ever met. We were the first people to stay at the house and Steve and his wife had completely transformed it. The house was spotless and laid out perfectly. The house is not huge, but master bedroom is on one side and two other bedrooms with a bath on the other so my husband and I had plenty of space. The kitchen is brand new and had all the appliances (also brand new) you could want. The beds and linens and towels were all brand new and super comfortable. The outdoor space was gorgeous and very roomy. Steve could not have been more attentive and caring. He allowed us an early check in and late check out since no one was coming for another day. Steve was very focused on our having the best experience as he said to me: "we don’t want it to be a great house, we want to be exceptional and we wanted to be one step above anybody else" I would recommend this property without reservation. We felt like it was our home away from home and plan to return when we are back in Delray.

Great Location/Good House
Great house for a small group for a short stay. We rented for ~ 3 weeks, which is too long to have all the issues we encountered. We asked the owner, Colin, if he had been to the house – it felt uncared for. He seemed concerned, sent his “handyman” to meet with us. The handyman presented himself as the “property manager”; told us there was nothing to be done about our concerns, yelled at us, told us “this wasn’t the Hyatt, we couldn’t complain about things, & WE COULD GET THE HELL OUT if we didn’t like it". Obviously, we did not interact again with him. The house looks pretty. It was a good renovation but has not been well cared for since then. Sofas are stained, mattress pads stained & dirty. Outdoor furniture broken & mildewed. We were there during a windy period & there was no way to get plant debris out of the bottom of the pool. The pool leaked 1” of water/day so we were refilling, which alters the chemicals. There are counter stools for 3, no indoor dining table. The outdoor table was great for breakfast & lunch, but bugs arrived before dinner. Pretty kitchen, but not equipped for any real cooking – scratched Teflon pans – we bought a new frying pan & sauce pan – both of which Colin reimbursed us for; only 3 wine glasses – we requested more glasses & received metal tumblers; the listing say it sleeps 6 but only has 6 dinner plates!, the dishwasher rack is missing 3 of 8 wheels, so it fell off the track every time it was used; sink in master bath dripped loudly all night. None of these issues are large/all could be easily remedied if the property was being properly cared for. We would suggest professional management. We loved Delray & will be renting in the area again in the future, but not this house.

The home is exactly as pictured - if not more beautiful, and the communication with Colin is easy and prompt. We had a few issues that were quickly tended to and solutions were offered immediately. We would definitely vacation here again, it was such a relaxing stay!
