Peaceful & Private Lakefront House on Shelp Lake, hot tub is open year round

Enjoy privacy and relaxation during your stay at our 4 bedroom 2 full bathroom house located on the shores of Shelp Lake in Delton, Michigan. Located on a quiet country dirt road, we are the only house on the south side of the lake, which means you will be able to take full advantage of a quiet weekend get-away or family vacation without neighbors close by!

Inside the house, we provide a fully appointed kitchen so our guests can create their favorite meals in the comfort of our home. We also provide a dining area to enjoy your home-cooked meals or a game night! The large living room offers a beautiful view of the lake, as well as plenty of comfortable seating and a smart TV so you can access your streaming accounts for a movie night or morning cartoons. With access to the top deck directly from the living room, you can open the slider doors and let in the fresh lake air and sit on the deck and enjoy a cup of coffee and a book while overlooking the peaceful setting!

The main level offers the primary bedroom with a King bed and large closet space, as well as several windows with a nice view of the lake, and a sliding door that provides access to the top deck. The main level also offers a full bathroom with a shower/bathtub combination.
On the lower walkout level you will find the 3 additional bedrooms and second full bathroom. The first bedroom on the lower level offers a queen bed and large closet, the second bedroom offers a twin-over-full bunk bed, and the 3rd bedroom offers a queen bed. The full bathroom on the lower level has a shower/bathtub combination as well as a separate shower.
We also have a large recreation room on the lower level where you can enjoy a game of pool at our pool table.
Directly outside the lower walkout level we have a deck and a private sparkling 6-person hot tub for our guests to enjoy! Our hot tub is professionally maintained and is open year-round. We also have a campfire area for guests who wish to enjoy time by the fire overlooking the lake.

Shelp Lake is a private all-sports lake but best known for its fishing! The lake is approximately 50 acres and 65 feet deep. This lake is great to kayak and there is so much wildlife to enjoy! We offer 4 kayaks for our guests to use to explore the lake. We also have a dock for guests to use to access the lake by kayak. In the winter, Shelp Lake is a great spot for ice fishing or ice skating! For the ski/snowboard/snow tubing enthusiast, there are a few different ski hills just a small drive away as well!

Please note, the setting of this lake is best for guests who enjoy nature, kayaking, fishing, and being surrounded by wildlife. Due to the natural wetland environment of the lake (i.e. an abundance of lilypads in some seasons) this lake is not ideal for guests who are looking for a place to swim or float. However, if you enjoy kayaking, fishing, wildlife, and ultimate relaxation in nature... this is the place for you! If you'd still love to enjoy our lakefront property but wish for a sandy beach/swimming area to enjoy, please reach out to us and we can recommend some great day-use beaches nearby! Please note, Shelp Lake is a private lake that does not have public access/launch site, if you would like to bring your boat we can recommend nearby public launch sites if you wish to enjoy a day boating on a nearby lake while still taking advantage of the peaceful natural setting of our house.

Due to significantly dry weather during the summer of 2024 the lake level is lower than is customary, our lake frontage currently has many exposed lily pads and water has receded significantly. The lake is still accessible by kayak however.

For the convenience of our youngest guests, we provide a pack & play upon request. Please note that the pack & play must be reserved at the time of booking your reservation to ensure availability.

Please note: we have a motion-activated security camera installed on the front of the house facing the entryway and driveway.
