Cheerful chalet with hot tub! Sweeping views, close to town and trails!

Perfect for a weekend getaway or base camp for an extended Colorado adventure. Nestled in the mountains less than an hour from downtown Denver and just 20 minutes from the heart of Evergreen. This German-inspired alpine chalet provides peace and quiet with 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and a large hot tub for relaxing after a long day on the slopes or hiking trails. You're just 20 minutes from Echo Lake (Gateway to Mt Evans/Blue Sky where you can drive the highest paved road in North America), and 25 minutes to Idaho Springs. Hit the trails right out the door, cozy up with a book in front of the stunning mountain views, or visit Echo Mountain (10 minutes up the road) for snow tubing and skiing. Hot tub, dry sauna, DirecTV, family amenities, and large game table will make your stay memorable and relaxing.

Our home is located in a neighborhood and while it feels remote, it's not! Our house is a great fit for you if you like the peace and quiet of the mountains, dark nights, and big views. We want to be respectful of our neighbors, so if you're looking for a remote place for a big party...this isn't it! Thanks for respecting our community!

Note regarding cameras on the property: There are three outdoor security cameras on this property. We use them to monitor the house and outdoor spaces when guests are not at the house. One camera is located near the main entrance and faces the driveway. One camera is located on the south deck. One camera is mounted under the eave on the main deck just above the kitchen dining nook and faces the table and hot tub. The cameras on the decks are turned off upon guest arrival. The camera facing the driveway will remain on and will light up at night when triggered by movement.

Large spaces and a view
Many rooms for many purposes. Views are amazing! Fantastic host communication. 4 of the 6 sisters and 3 nieces went for a concert at Red Rocks. Was perfect for us to sip coffee or wine depending on time of day and visit and play games. We did site see, but were always happy to come back for the views. I swear the mountainside turned into ripples of gold while we were there!

What a beautiful, amazing experience. The Hot tub was great fun to spend time together, the view was spectacular, and the awesome eating spaces, that could fit all of us together for meals was so perfect.

Great for a group!
The house was perfect for a weekend with friends. The only negatives is that parts of the house are kind of falling apart. There is a lot of charm in the house but some upgrades are necessary. The other thing is that it’s pitch black on the roads in the neighborhood nd there are tons of switchbacks. So if you’re planning to stay at the house the whole time, no worries, but if you’re exploring evergreen and coming back it’s a little dicey.

Great Stay
This house was adorable. The description and photos are accurate. The host was super helpful and was also proactive when a windstorm briefly knocked out the power. Before I could reach out to him, he had already messaged me and let me know that the power company is usually quick (he was right). The views are gorgeous-- you are on the side of a mountain! There is plenty of room in the house for your group- a nice selection of pots/pans/sheet pans etc. My group didnt use the sauna or hot tub, but both look well cared for. If you want a host that is great to work with and a mountain house, this is your place to stay!

Trip to the mountains
Our family trip (Mom & Dad, our three adult kids, their partners and our 2 grandkids) booked this hoping for a magical mountain retreat, and that is exactly what we got. The views will take your breath away! Sitting in the hot tub nested near the top of a mountain is everything you hope it would be! We were even treated to some snow while hot tubbing. The location was great, too. So close to many things. The house is large and gorgeous. The upstairs bath is gorgeous, with a huge tub w/heat lamps & the downstairs bath has heated floors & heat lamps. Large kitchen complete with everything you need to cook & eat. Multi-level decks, a sun porch, lots of spots to hang out together or alone. Highly recommend!

Best Owner Ever
I have used VRBO a lot and this is one of the best experiences I have ever had. The house was quirky in the best, most retro, kind of way! There were only four of us staying there but I can see how it would have been so easy to have a lot more people there without feeling like you were crowded for space. As much as I loved the house, the home owners were even better! They went above & beyond to make sure our stay was as good as it could be, including coming over several times to shovel and salt the driveway for this group of people who maybe get to see snow once every ten years back home.

Perfect getaway
This is the place to go for the perfect combination of quiet and relaxation and activity. Beautiful views from all around the property and close to grocery and wonderful Mexican food. The driveway is narrow and steep but easily maneuverable once acclimated. The house has everything needed including a super responsive owner. Will definitely stay again!

This is a beautiful escape!!!
I stayed here to recharge. It was the middle of a huge snowstorm (fine with me to get some peaceful existence). It was pristine. The property was exactly like the pictures and description, and Jon the owner was fantastic to work with. This property and owner are worth it. I will happily rent this location again from him. Fully stocked kitchen, great amenities, and close enough to do all kinds of things while still being lost!

This property was amazing! The kitchen was well outfitted and we cooked every meal. There is even a waffle maker! The property owner was responsive, proactive and congenial. Easy drive from the Denver airport and only 15 minutes from snow tubing at Echo Mountain. 10 out of 10 recommend!

Bachelorette Mountain Retreat for my sister
My sister requested a home in the mountains with good views and a hot tub for her bachelorette/bridal party weekend and this property was that and so much more! The home was quirky and full of character. There was plenty of space for all of us to hang out or spread out if we wanted to! Would highly recommend this property and would stay again!

Four old friends
The chalet is a charming and unique house nestled in the midst of astounding beauty. Four almost senior ladies came from out of state to see the aspens and experience the Rockies beautiful fall weather. All we needed to do was sit on the deck or look out the fabulous picture window from the living room. House was perfectly clean, beds were very comfortable with pillow options which pleased everyone. Every modern convenience including sauna and hot tub but charming old world style wherever we looked. A feeling of being remote in the mountains and yet very convenient to grocery, pharmacy etc. Several mountain towns are within a short drive from the chalet including Golden, Evergreen, Idaho Springs, and Georgetown. Recommend the train ride there for beautiful Aspen viewing. Definitely would come back to the chalet for another trip!

Wedding weekend
The chalet was a wonderful place to stay. Our son’s wedding was at Echo Mountain Ski Resort & it was only a 10 minute drive. There was hiking just 1/4 mile from the house. The house is very spacious. The kitchen was well equipped. We loved the hot tub. The whole house was super clean, laundry was so nice! Beds were very comfortable. Large TV that was great to watch a football game! The driveway was quite steep but manageable. Not much yard for our dog but with the hiking so close it worked! Overall a really nice house!

Back Again!
We love this home - our second time renting this chalet for our summer vacation. The proximity to hiking, Evergreen, Idaho Springs, Denver, etc. makes for the perfect smorgasbord of activities to please everyone in our family. The house was clean and well-stocked. We love the bonus fridge in the pantry! The mattresses were very comfortable, and there were pillow options to make everyone happy. It is easy to cook at the house, but close enough to venture out to our favorites - Beau Jo's and Lariat Lodge. Morning coffee on the deck is delightful, and we had a couple of fun wildlife sightings while there; a curious fox and baby birds in a prime location. Still a safe distance from our curious kiddos, but close enough that we could watch them each day. We highly recommend this spot. It's a treasure and we're already looking forward to next year!
