Forget your worries and enjoy spectacular lake views in this Dexter private waterfront home on Lake Wassookeag. Bring your ATVs/snowmobiles to directly access the Rail Trail from our property! Enjoy the trail for relaxing walks near the waterfront. Bring your gear for great fishing year round. Prepare your meals in our galley kitchen, featuring new stainless appliances and butcher block countertops. BBQ from the deck overlooking an expansive yard and the lake. Help yourself to rhubarb & raspberries when they are in season. Listen to the loons calling in the evenings. Build a campfire and end your evenings with good conversation, s'mores, and stargazing! You'll sleep in either the King Room, Queen Room, or Upstairs Room (queen/twin trundle), or on a queen sized futon in the casual living room. Either use the guest shower or the the King bath tub/shower. You will enjoy access to nearly 1.7 acres, including a spacious backyard, a wooded side lot, direct access to the Rail Trail, and waterfront access with a dock (seasonally). The walk is about 2 minutes down to the waterfront through our yard. Four kayaks are available to explore the lake in the warmer seasons. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. We ask that if you decide to use the fire pit, to please bring your own wood. Stock up on supplies at Hannaford's grocery and Reny's variety store located within a mile in downtown Dexter. Visit antique stores along Route 7 or enjoy free wine tasting at Anthony Lee's Winery just up the road. Check out the nearby covered bridge. Find the moose at Kokadjo. You are centrally located about 45 min from Moosehead Recreational area / Greenville, 45 min from Bangor, or 1.5 hrs from Acadia National Park. Itching to get your feet wet? Sit on the edge of our dock and listen to the loons. Hop in a kayak and escape to the other side of the lake to enjoy ice cream from Lakeshore Restaurant on the water. Swim at the public beach or launch your boat from the public site nearby. The yard slopes toward the lake, with the front of our home being a level higher than the backyard. You will encounter a few steps in our home. The living room is sunken by a couple inches from the dining area. The front porch/mudroom and the King Room walk-in closet both are a step lower than the rest of the home. The lower parking lot is accessed best by a full flight of deck stairs. If you need to park in the upper driveway to avoid steps, feel free to do so. Sleeping is available in the upstairs. Enjoy your visit to the Heart of Maine!
