Schöne, einladende Reethaus 3 Meilen vom Meer entfernt

Rainbow Cottage ist ein Stein und Reetdachhaus mit vier Schlafzimmern im Jahr 1994 gebaut. Es wurde von einem preisgekrönten Baumeister entworfen, um mit den benachbarten Ferienhäusern in Einklang zu sein. Es hat den Charme der alten, aber alle Vorteile einer geräumigen und familienfreundlichen Unterkunft.

Regenbogen ist ein Zuhause von zu Hause. Es ist sehr hübsch und sehr gut ausgestattet. Es gibt ein Holzfeuer, einen großen Fernseher und eine ausgezeichnete DVD-Bibliothek. Viele Besucher kehren immer wieder zurück, um die friedliche, ruhige, warme und gemütliche Atmosphäre zu genießen. Gut erzogene Haustiere sind willkommen.

Litton Cheney ist ein besonders attraktives Naturschutzgebiet, das tief im Bridetal zwischen Bridport und Dorchester versteckt ist. Es befindet sich in einem Gebiet von außergewöhnlicher natürlicher Schönheit. Der nächste Badestrand befindet sich nur 5 km entfernt in Burton Bradstock an der Jurassic Coast, einem Weltkulturerbe. Es gibt eine Kneipe im Dorf. Es gibt auch einen schönen abgelegenen Kinderspielplatz nur eine Minute zu Fuß von der Hütte entfernt.

Komfortabel mit viel Platz
Das schöne Haus, das sichtbar sehr beliebt ist, ist mit allem nur Denkbaren, das eine Familie im Urlaub brauchen könnte, ausgestattet. Man muss sich zwar an den Aga-Ofen, der ununterbrochen Hitze ausstrahlt und die tückischen britischen Sanitäranlagen gewöhnen, aber man fühlt sich im Haus sofort wohl. Caroline und ihre Housekeeperin Cheryl waren immer sehr hilfsbereit.

Rainbow cottage - nice house, needs a refresh
The property was scenic and pretty although smaller than appeared on the pictures, the garden in particular was much smaller than appeared on the photo. The place is nicely spaced inside and great draw / cupboard space overall but the kitchen was stacked with owners’ food which was a bit off putting and made the it hard to find space to put things away in the kitchen. Overall feeling was the place was nice but tired and needed a refresh, furniture was old and dirty and carpet was old and had many marks on it. The stair gate was broken (they did arrange for this to be fixed which was good although it remained precarious so not much use for our toddler). Overall we had a nice stay, but I would have expected a higher spec property for the price. .

Amazing stay at rainbow cottage
Me and my family had a lovely stay at rainbow cottage. It is set in the beautiful village of Litton Cheney and only takes 10mins to get to the sea. The property was cosy and well equipped. The host Caroline was lovely and was easy to contact and always happy help. I would definitely recommend rainbow cottage.

Super cottage
We were a group of four friends nearing our Forties and had the most lovely weekend at Rainbow Cottage. It's very spacious for a little cottage, comfortable, well appointed and with bags of character. The sitting room, with it's big sofas, is perfect for tea-drinking and paper-reading on a winter's afternoon. Litton Cheney is a sweet village with plenty of footpaths for dog walking and within easy reach of Bridport, the beaches, pubs, restaurants and longer walks. We hope to come back.

Perfect cottage for a chilled stay
My friends and I had a perfect weekend at the cottage, we felt relaxed, happy and at home. The location was lovely, near the pub for a meal and other great places to visit. The only issue we had, which was a major one, was that the fridge section of the fridge freezer wasn't working, our milk, butter and medication (and wine) wasn't cold. I messaged Caroline to let her know, before we left for the benifit of her future visitors. Another issue was the pillows, some of them had no cover protectors, so had stains on them. We had the most amazing, relaxing stay in Rainbow Cottage. It had everything you needed for a perfect stay. A definite recommendation.

Lovely village, the house could be but badly needs tlc
We stayed for a week in April. Great setting in beautiful countryside which is easily accessible. Can get to lovely coastal walks in 10 mins. Fab pub in the village and easy walk to the neighbouring village too. We are a family of four and have two dogs. The cottage is as advertised but needs updating. Everything worked and it is well equipped but it is very tired and in need of a thorough clean and declutter and some minor repairs are needed. We let the owner know and was offered a discount on a future direct rebooking. The garden is quite small and the lawn needed cutting but it is secure for dogs which is appreciated. The low score is entirely due to the cleanliness and presentation of the house which is such a shame. I think we paid a lot of money for somewhere so unloved. We’d love to go back to the area but to a different property.

Great week in Dorset
Lovely cottage close to a number of beaches. Lots of room inside for 8 with a small well kept garden that would benefit with more outside seating and shade as temperatures reached the 30’s . Be aware that access is via narrow single tracked roads but not a problem. Cooking is via an Aga which is permanently on so lovely on cooler days. Communication with owner and manager was very good.

It was a lovely homely, comfortable cottage with good sized rooms, and in a beautiful village , in a great location to visit Dorset and East Devon. A gorgeous cottage in a pretty village
We loved our stay here. Such a quirky cottage with everything you need and so much space inside. The village is very peaceful but in a brilliant location. We have two young children and there is a playground really close by which was an added bonus. Caroline was always quick to respond to my messages and so friendly. Thank you. Beautiful cottage in quiet setting but near the coast
Excellent property and well equipped in all ways. Suitable for all ages. We had young grandchildren with us and excellent playground and large recreation area no more than 200 yards away. Village very quiet but gives easy access in all directions and coast about 10 minutes away. Will certainly revisit.

Lovely cottage in beautiful village
Loved our stay here. 8 of us came for a birthday weekend. Some reviews said the decor was dated but I think this was part of the charm, especially the hen wallpaper in the kitchen. Lots of living space, comfy sofas, 8 chairs round the table and 2 toilets - which are my most important criteria. Ideal if you want to explore local area or stay inside all weekend. Caroline the owner was lovely and so helpful at returning our baby’s change back that we left behind. Will definitely come agajn

Could do better!
It's easy to leave a poor review if the trip hasn't been good. But this review pertains only to the property. Our actual holiday - and everything we did - was superb. 'Strip the beds, empty the bins, unload the dishwasher, don't park in the front, lights out at the front when it's dark'... these are a few of the things listed by the host the week before we arrived. Staying in holiday rentals for the past decade both here and abroad, it's the first time I've ever encountered such a note. (Being addressed as a 'visitor' rather than a 'guest' in the note left for us seemed to highlight the approach. Felt like the request of a strict teacher or an inexperienced landlady. Having successfully run a holiday rental myself here, it also felt inappropriate. Despite her 'fantastic housekeeper', guests were still asked to do a portion of the housekeeping themselves. I'd also say that much of the kitchen equipment and some of the furnishings could do with renewing. Knives were blunt, one coffee pot had no lid, the coffee maker I used was black at the base (had to wash it thoroughly myself before even considering using it). If the property has been available since it was built, (90s) it appears that everything in it also dates back to then. Bed linen is garish, wall hangings vary from the country quaint to the trendy. All a little out of sync. The house is warm, the kitchen with the lovely Aga turned out to be the ideal place to talk, plan our days, cook, eat and share. The roosters in the neighbouring garden too seemed trained not to crow before 7.30am! There are fresh eggs available from a nearby farm. Unfortunately a number of rooms (kitchen, main bathroom) are overlooked so a little uneasy about really feeling at home here. The wealth of books, CDs and DVDs was appreciated. and I caught up on a few films I'd been wanting to watch for years! But the house is beautifully silent, neighbours are civil and even the local walks full of interest and a photographer's delight. The lovely Bridport and Lyme Regis and Lulworth Cove are easy drives. (Make sure you get to Bridport market - Wednesday and Saturday, main one on Saturday.) Overall an excellent location, a good house for us but needs some attention now.

Lovely house in very pretty village
Lovely thatched cottage with plenty of room for 8 adults. The house is very comfortable and well equipped, including an Aga, and a small pretty garden. The children enjoyed looking at the chickens next door and there are lots of games, CDs and DVDs to keep everyone amused when they are not out and about. Litton Cheney is very picturesque. Its just 10-15 minutes to Hive Beach (the cafe there is fabulous), and we also very much enjoyed Lyme Regis which is not far.
