Establishment was clean and amenities conveniently located. At check in, learned that an additional $60 would be charged: $10 for a tourism levy and $50 security deposit if we used a third party to book the room. Desk staff was EXTREMELY RUDE when we inquired about the additional fees. When booking thru Expedia is said “price guarantee to include all fees.” She was very short with her explanation. She then asked if we had a room preference and we asked for a room facing the parking lot where our vehicle was parked. When we went to our room and looked out the window, our room faced another building! You couldn’t see anything but a brick building 6’ away! The sun couldn’t even find its way in! Why did she ask if she had no intention of fulfilling the request?! Felt like it was some power play inconveniencing her with questions!
At checkout we were asked about our stay by a very nice young lady, so I shared our experience about our checkin. I was told that HR has talked to the checkin gal before and that she has been working at the site for many years and does things her own way-isn’t changing with the times. So if the property is aware of an issue, why would they put her in a customer facing position?!
The hotel is definitely 5 stars but the lack of human kindness makes it a 2! Nobody should have to experience that kind of attitude from the service industry!
