„We really enjoyed our stay at this quaint, warm and welcoming place. The room was large and filled with antiques. We could see the river from our room. The service was excellent! We had a nice dinner one evening and a wonderful breakfast on Sunday. The sack breakfast on Saturday was perfect to take with us and start our day enjoying the beautiful fall day and National Forest. „We really enjoyed this unique property as we explored southern Illinois and western Kentucky. This house had everything we needed. Spacious bed, step-in shower, fast wi-fi, kitchen, and patio. It was close to the water and some shopping. The communication with the host was excellent. “

„We very much enjoyed the Sassafras’s cabin! Clean, well appointed with dishes, pans etc. they even provided coffee. Centrally located in the Shawnee Natl Forest, we were only 8 minutes away from great hiking, The Garden of the Gods and more. While there are other cabins nearby there was plenty of privacy. Very quiet place to enjoy a fire pit and decompress. We will absolutely be back for another stay. “
