Originally part of a local hotel, this 100+ year old cottage invites you to become a part of its rich history. Embrace the character of uneven wooden floors that tell tales of laughter and footsteps. Let the ocean breeze weave its way through open windows, while fans play a gentle breeze. While the cottage does not have air conditioning it is nestled under the shade of towering trees. Fear not, fans are thoughtfully provided to move with the ocean air, ensuring your stay is both cozy and comfortably connected to nature. In winter, cozy up to the crackling fire stove in the living room, adding a touch of romance to your coastal retreat.

Summer:
June, July and August we are a weekly rental from Friday-Friday.

Shore Access:
Thanksgiving through the beginning of April the shore stairs will be inaccessible as we secure them for potential winter storms.

The cottage's location is ideal. It is situated within walking distance from Lamoine Beach and Lamoine State Park. The cottage is just a short drive to the entrance of Acadia National Park and the charming villages of Bar Harbor and Southwest Harbor on Mount Desert Island. Ellsworth is a short 15 min drive away.

Nearby attractions/activities: Acadia National Park, Mount Desert Island, Bar Harbor, Northeast Harbor and Southwest Harbor, Schoodic Peninsula, Kayaking, sailing, boating, fishing, rock climbing, paddle boarding, hiking, bird watching, nature tours, historical tours, lobstering tours, whale watching and so much more. Information on all of these activities plus incredible restaurants included in a digital guest book.

Great getaway near Acadia

Perfect Stay on the quieter side of Bar Harbor
Our stay at this house was absolute perfection--away from the bustle of the touristy Bar Harbor but close enough to enjoy all the restaurants and activities in Acadia-- enjoyed the sunrise on the water daily from our own backyard. The house was clean, comfortable and had everything you would need: comfy beds, fully equipped kitchen, plenty of outdoor seating, fire pit, yard games... they thought of everything! Host Jenny very accommodating and checked in to make sure all was ok-- we are already planning our return next year. Loved it.

Excellent Find!
Cornerstone had everything we needed and was everything we had hoped for! Beautiful views, just enough space for everyone to be comfortable, great outdoor space, and host is amazing. The beds were comfortable (this is a MUST) and the bathrooms were stocked and ready!

Family’s First Trip to Maine
Our family loved our first vacation to Maine so much that we are planning our visit to come again next year. The cottage was even more beautiful than I imagined with comfortable beds, beautiful views and the perfect location to visit Acadia. Our children are in their 20’s and loved Jenny’s recommendations in the digital guidebook for hikes in the park, sailing, restaurants and also enjoyed bonfires at the cottage, kayaking, games at night and big breakfasts in the kitchen each morning. Jenny is the best host and has put so much love into this cottage to make it special for guests. This was a gem of a find!

Wonderful week at Cornerstone!

Cornerstone Cottage
Once a year my family plans a trip together. My family loves the outdoors and exploring new places. We all were beyond thrilled with Cornerstone Cottage and all the extras that came with our stay including a meticulously clean home and every little detail that was thought of. I felt like I walked into a new home. The house has four bedrooms and two baths at the end of the hall - all on the second floor. The first floor has spacious living space. The backyard is large; it is great for family games. The view from the backyard is breathtaking. The host cares about the house and her guests.

Peace and serenity surround you
The Cottage was by far the BEST vacation rental we’ve ever stayed at. Impeccably clean for starters. The home is very well equipped, and the location is superb. We are a family of 4 (2adult children) and we all had plenty of space to sit around together, or run solo if we wanted. The home is so lovely inside; cozy with a spectacular view. All the little details in the decor were a lovely and homey touch. The property is well maintained and the walk down the lawn to the water was my favorite thing to do to start each morning. I really can’t say enough great things. If you’re looking for the perfect home just a short drive away from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor, look no further. Perfect getaway
We had an incredible time at Cornerstone Cottage. Really couldn’t ask for a better experience. 3 out of the 4 of us decided to not leave the location for the entirety of our stay! lol.. We had a wonderful stay at Cornerstone Cottage. All accommodations exceeded our expectations to the max. Everything we could have wanted and or needed was right there for us! Family vacation just before the official season
We spent three lovely, relaxing days at the cornerstone cottage in late April. This home is bright and beautiful, gorgeous views of the bay from the living room couches. We spent the afternoons in Acadia, and although many of the shops and restaurants were closed until May, there were zero crowds in the park and we had wonderful hikes in the park under cool crisp big blue skies.

Perfection!
We couldn’t have asked for anything more- Jenny and Cornerstone Cottage checked every box! The house was immaculate and a true gem weaving the charm of the past with a modern touch. Eclipsed all expectations!
We had never been to Maine, and decided to visit during the total solar eclipse. After looking at many homes, we chose Jenny's beautiful home in Lamoine. Leading up to our stay, Jenny kept in touch and told us about an approaching Nor'easter storm, and gave us the option to arrive a few days later or continue as planned. We decided to be adventurous and continue with our trip. She made sure we had plenty of firewood and electric lights in case of a power outage. We ended up never losing power and had a two day winter wonderland at the house! The house had EVERYTHING! Bluetooth speaker, cooler, blue ice, spices, oils, lobster pot, etc. It was all there! And we can't say enough about the incredibly comfortable mattresses on the beds! We all slept like babies! The views from the property, the comfortable furnishings, and the fantastic communication from Jenny made our trip to see the eclipse magnificent! HIGHLY recommend this property on your next trip to Maine!

Perfect coastal cottage
Everything was perfect for our fall getaway. The house was warm, bright and airy while still being cozy. The setting was gorgeous and all the special touches made us feel we were staying at a friend's cottage. Jenny was great to deal with, very responsive. You can tell the difference when you are staying in someone's home filled with love vs. just a rental used to make money. This home oozes the love Jenny and her family have for their home and the area in general. It was a pleasure staying here!!

Back Porch Sitting at its Best
What a great property. Not only was the back porch our favorite spot to sit for morning coffee and evening cocktails, but the house itself was a little slice of history that was tastefully decorated to give it a modern farmhouse feel. We would definitely stay here again!!
