„We really our stay at this very cosy cottage. Great fire place with plenty of wood to burn. Being so near to the Raurimu Spiral for train, National Park for supplies and rock climbing and Mt Rhapehu was excellent. Our party of 10 were most comfortable. “

„We had a group of 12 people doing an Alpine Skills course. It was ideal for our group with a good sized living area and it was warm & comfortable with the fire going.“

„It's a good value cottage in a good location just a few minutes from National Park and close to Whakapapa. It could do with a good spring clean, but you can't argue the price. Previous guests could've done more to clean like empty the bins properly, but overall would recommend and the description was accurate! Thanks for having us.“

„No hot tub. Advertised with one. Pond was a bunch of over grown weeds. Photos online exterior not current“

„The house was great for our family of 6 adults with 4 bedrooms. Plenty of games and books provided. It is 'rustic', bathrooms are basic and the paintwork a bit patchy, but plenty of cookware provided and washing machine and dryer, as well as a fireplace.“

„Very neat and clean. The room had everything we needed from tea/coffee to towels and even make-up remover. The bed was a little uncomfortable but that is due to my preferences of a firm mattress and pillow. All in all is was a great experience. “

„Was a lovely weekend get away with the family. Grate views from the deck and rooms, with loads of space to relax in. Beach was warm and the fish were biting. Everything we needed was there and check in and out was a breeze. “

„We had a great stay at Awakino and the location was unbeatable. We had functions to attend in Mokau which was really ply only a few minutes away. We also traveled to Waikawau and it made it so easy to get to. I would recommend this premises for anyone. The owner was very accessible and very friendly even leaving some homemade biscuits and farm fresh eggs for us. It was an older style house and had everything we needed. Sehr einfache Unterkunft

"Hier handelt es sich um ein Hostel, keine Lodge, für welches wir viel zu viel bezahlt haben. Dieses Hostel ist sehr ungepflegt und vernachlässigt. Allerdings war das Bett und die Dusche sauber. Es fehlte leider ein Stuhl und Tisch in dem recht kleinen Zimmer. Das Spa ist umgeben von einer Bretterwand, in einem ungepflegt Bereich, welches nicht ansprechend war. Der allgemeine Küchen-und Essbereich waren in einem schmuddeligen Zustand. Personal war nicht zu sehen, unser Zimmer wurde nicht gemacht. Rezeption bei Abreise um 8h30 nicht geöffnet. Hier wuerden wir nicht mehr übernachten. "

"Das Hotel ist ein besonderer Ort, sehr urig eingerichtet und hat einen absoluten Retro-Charme, als wäre man in einer anderen Zeit. Die Einrichtung ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, dennoch ist alles sauber. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, die Organisation zum Tongariro-Crossing absolut unkompliziert und das Essen im Restaurant ein echtes Highlight. Besonders gut hat uns gefallen, das bei kalter Ankunft das Zimmer schön vorgewärmt und gemütlich war."
