„Just a tip for those like us who are new to "no-receptionist check-in" stay-in/hotel/motel, make sure to check your email for the Room Number and Security Code. We got our "room information" via email, sent two days before the start of our stay. I highly suggest to arrive at location and check-in as early as allowed to give ample time to rectify any issues, and to pre-register/check-in. „Beautiful accommodation in a old Japanese style farm house. We had a room in the old warehouse, which was beautifully restored. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. It's just a perfect place if you're looking for a break from the hustle of the big cities.“

„We had a fantastic stay at this Ratuken property! The fit out of the projector in the bedroom, and the comfortable furniture make this a very comfortable stay for two. It would easily handle more people. It's a sizeable apartment. The private semi-outdoor onsen/bath with artificial minerals is a fantastic touch. Very relaxing! It's a short walk from town and there are convenience stores nearby. Highly recommended! “

„We had a wonderful stay at this house located just off the main street in Nikko. The owner is very kind and responsive. It is a large house with three large bedrooms, a living room area, a separate full kitchen, large bathroom with washer, and lots of windows. I liked that the main living area is on the first floor (not the ground level) and the bedrooms are on the second level. The ground level is the garage. You do have to climb stairs to get in and out of the house but that wasn’t an issue ...

Communication with the host was great and they were kind and understanding when we arrived late due to traffic. "Unser Zimmer war sehr groß, aber leider auch sehr abgenutzt, nicht nur die Möbel, sondern auch der Teppichboden und die Tapete. Die Lobby ist sehr schön mit vielen modernen und neuen Sitzgelegenheiten, so dass man sich im Zimmer nur zum Schlafen aufhalten muss. Insgesamt war es ok, aber nicht empfehlenswert."

Schlechte Lage, super Hotel

"Das Hotel selbst und der Service sind wirklich super. Auch die Zimmer sind schön modern und gross. Einziger Negativpunkt ist die abgelegene Lage. Da es zum Hotel fast 30min hoch und 20min zurück zum Bahnhof sind. Mit einem Auto würde ich das Hotel sofort wieder buchen"

"Das Hotel ist das erste westliche in Japan eröffnete. Das und die dortige Atmosphäre sind die Übernachtung schon wert. Das Gebäude versprüht nostalgischen Charme und das macht den besonderen Reiz aus. Zimmer sind groß Und geräumig, allerdings ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen, wobei das logisch ist bei einem 150 Jahre alten Hotel. Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und überaus hilfsbereit. "
