Historic villa in central location with small flaws
We stayed at the property for a week in spring. The house looks amazing from out front and promises a historic charme that it keeps through all the rooms, as well. Located in a rather quiet street in walking distance to central Ft. Lauderdale, the Riverwalk and Las Olas Blvd.
The house has plenty of space for a group of up to six people (adults or teenagers, not so suited for little kids) to spend the day in- our outdoors at one of two tables or two couches downstairs or the three bedrooms (two with adjacent shower/bathroom) upstairs.
On the downside, the well-equipped kitchen with its appliances and a number of other things are a bit lived-down and have probably seen better days. Everything works, but don't expect either state-of-the-art appliances or modern windows with mosquito gazé (except for the kitchen and one bedroom). An old window in the master bedroom hardly shuts at all, letting noise from the street outside in rather unfiltred. In one of the bedrooms, the central A/C duct sits in one of the cabinets and is rather noise, so only heavy sleepers should stay there.
During our stay, cleanliness was OK. Watch out for rodents and raccoons around the house, best to keep doors and windows shut.
The major upside of the house is the host, Oliver, who was the most attentive and friendly person to deal with we have encountered in a long time.
If the house received a few updates we'd give it 5*!
