At the Shenandoah South Fork Hideaway, the choice is yours: Do you want to drive 5 minutes to hike the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests? Fifteen minutes to canoe down the Shenandoah River, or to Front Royal and Skyline Drive? Twenty minutes to the local wineries and meaderies, or to the Shenandoah State Park?
Or — maybe — would you rather just enjoy your own private hideaway, tucked at the bottom of the mountains and nestled within the untamed forest?
Built on an old wagon trail, this rustic 3-bedroom, 2-bath cabin will greet you with stunning views of the mountains (and river, once the leaves fall) that you can enjoy from your 3rd-floor loft bedroom with giant picture windows, or your expansive 2nd-floor deck made for entertaining. Spot the deer that live nearby as they stroll through the meadow on your property, or turn your eyes skyward toward hawks during the day and the most incredible views of the stars at night.
Just south of Front Royal and 90 minutes from Washington DC, it's the ultimate accessible spot that feels like you're a million miles away. The hideaway sits on nearly 3 wooded acres off a gravel road, and visitors have said it feels like you've traveled back in time once you get there.
This property does NOT have river access, but there are two public river landings within a 10 minute drive.

Being so close to the river and mountains, it can get buggy when the temps are above freezing, so do bring bug spray. We also have a professional pest control company that routinely does prevention on our house.
It's also likely you'll see other wildlife like deer, birds — and maybe even the occasional bear! Please leave them be and enjoy from a distance.
We have a large gravel driveway on the property. All the roads to get to the house are paved until you come up to our street, which is about a quarter mile long of gravel road.
Please note that we do not have a washer or dryer. Some cell phone providers do not have reliable service at the property (Verizon).
There is a pet fee of $50 that you will pay upon booking. We limit pets to 3 per visit, and kindly request you don’t let your furry friends on the furniture.
