Historic and stately, this grand dame Texas home was moved to the West End of Galveston and completely remodeled from head to toe. Featuring two living rooms, two kitchens, a children’s room, and sleeping space for 14 people, this home— named The Weekender— is ideal for big groups of friends and extended families. Located in a bright and friendly Texas Gulf Coast neighborhood that’s close to the beach and downtown, your whole family will feel right at home here.

Location: Centrally located on Galveston Island, Texas

Beach access: There are multiple beach access points that are a 5 to 15-minute drive away, depending on which one you pick.

Rent BeachBox: Looking for beach gear for your Galveston getaway? We have you covered! Beach chairs and tents can be ready at the house upon your arrival. Message us for details and rates.

WIFI: Free high-speed WIFI is available throughout the home.

Cable: We provide Roku with access to Sling TV for live television channels. Guests are welcome to log into their own Amazon Prime, Netflix, or other streaming service apps as well.

Pet policy: Up to 3 pets are welcome in our home with a $25 fee per pet. We ask that pets stay off all furniture, are cleaned up after in the yard, and aren't left alone inside the home unless in a crate or kennel. Please message us if you’re planning on bringing your furry friend!

Parking: There is room for 6 cars in the driveway.

Party Policy: No parties are allowed at our home. Please look elsewhere if that is the intent of your trip.

Beginning on the ground floor, where the open-plan living room and kitchen welcome you with an abundance of natural light. A velvety sectional sofa takes center stage in the living space, facing a large flatscreen television for your entertainment. The galley kitchen exudes a stylish vibe with its retro refrigerator and open shelving.

The ground floor also includes two cozy bedrooms. The first bedroom serves as a bunk room, featuring both a queen-size bed and a full-over-full-size bunk bed, ideal for families or groups of friends. The second bedroom offers two queen-size beds for a comfortable night's rest. Additionally, the ground floor houses a fully equipped bathroom and a practical laundry room, ensuring convenience and functionality.

As you head upstairs to the main level, you’ll find another open living and kitchen space. The historic charm of this classic home is highlighted by the soft dove gray walls, crisp white trim, dark hardwood floors, and painted beadboard ceilings. The U-shaped sectional sofa faces a large flatscreen television, providing a cozy spot for everyone to gather in the evenings. The kitchen features chic dark gray cabinets topped with luxurious hexagon tile countertops, creating a modern and inviting atmosphere.

Down the hall, you'll find two light-filled bedrooms, each with king-size beds. A full bathroom is conveniently located in the hallway. Step out onto the grand balcony, the perfect place to soak up the sun or relax with an afternoon cocktail.

Continuing up another set of stairs, you'll reach the cheerful children's room on the third floor. Complete with a double bed, a twin-size bed, and a full bathroom, this converted attic space has been thoughtfully designed with the little ones in mind. Please note that due to the attic's original purpose, the ceiling height is lower.

Far enough away from the hustle and bustle of downtown and the beaches— yet close enough for easy day trips and adventures— this historic hideaway feels homey and comfy from the moment you arrive. House Rules:
- Guests must be 24+ to book the property.
- One-night stays must be approved.
- Groups larger than 8+ would need to be approved. We love hosting church groups, family reunions, etc., but do not allow parties.
- Quiet hours are from 10pm-8am.
- Any damages to the house or property during your stay will result in a deduction or additional charge for the resulting repair/replacement cost.
- All pets must be approved by our team, stay off of all furniture, be cleaned up after in the yard, and not left alone inside the home unless in a kennel.
- No parking allowed on lawns, yards, empty grass lots or other neighbors’ driveways, even if their home appears unoccupied.
- Oversized vehicles/trailers are not permitted unless explicit approval has been received from our team.
- Do not turn the AC below 70 degrees. If you do, you will risk the AC unit freezing up, requiring it to thaw out which will result in the home getting extremely warm.
- Should an eviction occur due to breaking house rules (noise ordinance violations, excessive guests and/or vehicles beyond the agreed amount), there will be an $850 fine.

Great for a quick stay
This property was not what we expected as the photos showed. The furniture is older and the beds downstairs very uncomfortable. The loft smelled as if it had water damage, and was unusable . Some of the doors need work, the ceiling was patched up badly in areas and poorly painted over. There is no dining room or tables to eat on. On a positive note the renters response was quick. Getting in to the property was very easy and their is lots of parking at a reasonable price . Management also responded and we were able to get a lost wallet back to the owner.

Property is Just OK
This property was not all that was to be expected. Maybe I overlooked that this was not a Super Host property because it definitely showed. I just booked it, my sister in law sent it to me. The family as a whole was not pleased. It smelled as if it had water damage, some doors need work, the ceiling was patched up badly in areas and poorly painted over. I didn't make it to the attic but my son is 5'7 and hit his head entering the attic. Per teens the attic had nasty smell. The beds on the 1st floor were lumpy and felt like we were sleeping on an air mattresses. There is no dining room or tables to eat on. Very pots and pans. We had to run down to the store to purchase some before they closed for the holiday. On a positive note the renter response quickly. Getting in to the property was very easy. The swimming pool is a beautiful add on eventhough we didn't get a chance to enjoy it. We all loved that there are 2 kitchens and we were able to split the cooking and not be on each others back.

This place has a long parking area off the street. We just soent 1 night before heading out on a cruise. Everything "looked" clean, but iur socks were very dirty after walking around without shoes on. The staircase needs a good cleaning. Pool looks very nice but it was too cold to swim in Dec.

Pics are deceivng. furniture now in diff rooms.1 room had 2 entries-1 door. Bunk beds, bottom bed on the floor & very loud. Bedrooms had no tv's. Upon checking in, found windows open & doors unlocked. 1 bathroom-no door. 3rd level-window above bed broken making it cold and you can hear wind blowing inbed

Wonderful Weekender
Great location, wonderful home, plenty of space for everyone. Nice backyard. Not too far, not to close to the beach if you have young children with you. Restaurants, stores, beach and beach rental equipment within a short drive. Definitely recommend "The Weekender".

We had a nice stay
This property was just as advertised. Lots of beds and 2 kitchens. There were a few things I ddin't notice when booking...there is no table. If you want to eat as a group or play games, you are out of luck. There are barstools and plenty of counter space. Upstairs bathroom is great for kids, but super small and has no mirror. We had trouble with locking one of the doors, but the owner was very communicative and helped us troubleshoot. Overall it was a nice stay. We were a little disappionted that there was zero flexibility with late check out, but it was just as advertised.
