The “schoolhouse is very clean and cozy. It’s not far from Kitchen Kettle Village however it’s far enough for the rural Lancaster feel. Beautiful scenery will leave you feeling relaxed.

Beautiful rental in heart of Amish country
The rental was exactly as described. Clean and tidy, decorated perfectly. Everything you need was there. The area was beautiful and we found plenty of nice shops out away from the tourist areas. The hosts graciously left us a shoofly pie which was delicious, the first one we’ve ever had. We will definitely stay again when visiting the area! Thank you Sam and Susan!

Great Place
Exactly as advertised. A nice, clean apartment in Lancaster County. While it’s not necessarily close to the main attractions in the area, it is a perfect hub to explore them from as it is 15-30 minutes from most. Also, White Horse Luncheonette is right across the street and has good, reasonably priced food and ice cream.

relaxing refuge from long drive from TN to PA
Clean and very well supplied home away from home. The traffic outside was noisy with trucks, motorcycles, cars. The clip clop of the horses hooves was welcome sound. The fire trucks went out and surely were very noisy. Station is right across the street. Onlaslt day ther someone must have been baking and just like that the fire alarm in all the apartments went off with the robot voice saying over and over ,"Fire - Fire - Fire". Got our attention for sure!!

Girls trip to Sight & Sound and Visit Amish friends
Everything was perfect. Property was just what we expected and location was perfect for us. Our Amish friend lived just one mile down the road. Wish we had time to visit the owners farm since they extended an invitation but we ran out of time. The honey was awesome and the Shoofly pie was a nice touch as well. Family coming in from out of town for family reunion
The only negative thing was the noise from the road (property was on an intersection) and next door to the fire station! Everything else was great. Nice place to relax after busy days shopping and site seeing and visiting with family.

Perfect Amish Country Visit
We were looking for a peaceful place to rest and a hub from which to visit a few different Lancaster County attractions. This was the best place we could have chosen! Sam and Sue were very welcoming and accommodating. We took a buggy ride through the country side and enjoyed a visit with their chickens, sheep, horse and children💜. We would stay here again and again. It fit the needs of our family of 4 just perfectly.

Vacation and 35th anniversary
Have stayed in this area previously so knew we were outside of the hustle and bustle. The property is located at a crossroads, so there is some traffic (we knew that when we reserved it) Do recommend running the in room air conditioner on low fan setting (not auto) and almost all of the noise of traffic is drowned out. If you like seeing horses and buggies, this is a great location. We enjoyed sitting outside and just watching them pass by. Across the road is a shop where they make and repair the horse-drawn farm equipment. The firehall is directly behind and don't be alarmed if you hear an alarm late at night. It kind of startled us, but was very impressed to see all the local Amish pile into the firehall on bikes, scooters, and on foot running to have the engine manned and heading out in 5 minutes or less. Only happened once but as I said, was more impressive than troublesome. The property was as listed and the decor was warm and welcoming. We were greeting by both the owners and they were very nice and invited us to drop by if we wanted. They also informed us that they would not bother us if we chose. They were true to their word. We ran out of time to drop by, so did not see them the whole stay (kind of a bummer, really enjoyed talking to them when we met, but realize some people dont want to be bothered by others when on vacation) Plenty of space in the living room, the kitchen was plenty big enough for what we needed, and the beds were very comfortable.(did wish it was a king size, but knew when we reserved it was a queen) There are others that live upstairs, but never heard them except for coming down the steps to the front door located outside the front door to the rental. ALL IN ALL, WOULD NOT CHANGE A THING ABOUT IT. Will definitely stay again. One of the main perks, greeted with a homemade shoo-fly pie. Made our 35th anniversary a memorable one. Thanks Samuel and Susan for renting such a charming place. Hopefully see you again in the future.
