Park you car right at the entrance to the chalet. No public transportation. Please note to drive slowly along small country roads: there are plenty of healthy deer grazing in the valley. (more so at night!!)
If you have to use your cell phone, drive drive back the way you came for about 1.75 miles until you get a signal on you cell phone...(some cell phones make WiFi calling)
Visit the historical Wilderness Road State Park ±26 miles from here just across Powell Mountain. Proceed another ten miles from there to the Cumberland Gap National Historic Park. Or visit the natural Tunnel State Park located 32 miles NE from the Chalet... or the Sevierville, Pigeon forge Gatlingburg area with all of it's attractions about ±82 miles south of here. AND, best of all, if you come in the fall, the leaves are spectacular here, and you do not have to fight the crowds in the Smokie Mountain tourist traps!
