„It was perfect for what we needed. A couple fixit needs but overall well taken care of. Very low shower for a 6 foot tall person. Not even chest level. That is about my only knock on the place. Beautiful overall“

„We spent a week at the cabin as our kids attended alpine race camp up on Mt Hood. Great proximity to the mountain. Wonderful trails from running up the Old Salmon River Trail. Like, amazing! Cabin was a great place to unwind and relax after our days outdoors. Ping pong table was in pretty rough shape and no lights out there made it pretty hard to play. For the length of our stay, a few extra laundry pods and dishwasher tabs would have been nice. Overall we’ll likely rebook for next summer.“

„Excellent accommodations. Loved the rustic charm, spaciousness and the working fireplace. Especially loved the hot tub overlooking the river and all the towels that were provided. Only negatives were the grill needs work as it doesn’t heat up and the cleaning people arrived before check out - which felt very rushed. Despite that - would stay again for sure.“

„We had a lovely long weekend. The house was very clean and well appointed; it wasn’t clear in the listing, but there is a coffee pot. We were pleasantly surprised to find a hot tub here as well! The location was perfect for a friend’s trip. We couldn’t get down to the river exactly because of mobility issues, but if you have sturdy shoes and good knees it shouldn’t be an issue. Overall we had a great time and were very comfortable!“

„Our family of 6 (kids age 16, 12, 9, 5) stayed here for 3 nights while exploring the Mt Hood area. The cabin is very rustic & cute, but not so much elegant. Some of the furniture & linens are showing signs of needing to be replaced & it would have been nice to have some plastic glasses/cups for the kids & out in the hot tub. „I took my nephew, niece, and their sweeties to this wonderful home for an overnight to celebrate a high school graduation and a 21st bday. The "kids" were blown away, as was I, by the comfortable, thoughtful amenities. The communication from the hosts was top- notch, surpassed only by their kindness. Instructions were clear, neighbors were friendly, and I felt safe and secure in this peaceful mountain and river escape. Highly recommend - 10 out of 10 experience.“

„Great place to stay, and close to lots of wilderness to explore. Cabin is so quant, cute and the decor is perfect for the area. Beautiful rooms. Hot tub was amazing, and the fire place was fully stocked with wood. Kitchen was fully stocked with utinciles and was a great place to cook a home cooked meal after a long hike. Other houses are a lot closer then pictures/descriptions indicate, but neighborhood is quiet and cozy. Only reason for not 5 stars: Vacasa is hard to get a hold of. They also ...

„Wow. Not only was the house wonderful, but the natural surroundings were heavenly. We had such a lovely stay. The kitchen is a cooks dream. The heated bathroom?? Forget about it! Perfection. Our only complaints were the hot tub was luke warm when we arrived. We boiled 8 pots of water to bring it to 100°, but then it stayed up to temp. Also, the house cleaner could have been more thorough. It was awful but not as clean as one might hope for. Still, would 100% stay again!“

„Loved our stay in Government camp - 11yo in ski camp, 13yo, husband and I mountain biking and hiking during the day. * Location! Great access to Timberline (12 minutes?) and 20 minutes to sandy ridge, but fun cross country trails right out the back door and a short stretch to the lift if the timberline biking is open. „The house is so cute and homey! We LOVED being so close to the River! Spent most of our time on the back patio; either around the table, or in the hot tub admiring the water! The fireplace was an extra bonus for us as well! The bed in the master was incredibly comfortable! We had a lovely stay, and will be back!“

„This is our second time staying at Baernhaus- it has become our go-to place to stay in Government Camp. Clean, sleek, modern but very cozy. Perfect location- short 1 block walk to Govy, yet completely private setting, elevated in the trees. Nice separation of bedrooms from common areas. "Das kleine Resort liegt sehr abgelegen, es gibt keine Versorgungsmöglichkeiten in der Nähe. Die dazugehörige Taverne hat 5 Tage geöffnet und ist recht teuer. Frühstück ist auch nicht optional angeboten. Es gibt Bungalows, kleine Appartments und Motel/Hotelzimmer. Letztere befinden sich in einem Reihenbungalow, ähnlich einem Motel. Zimmer sind groß, aber durch das dunkle Holz und einer fehlenden direkten Fensterfront extrem dunkel. Kühlschrank und Kaffeemaschine sind vorhanden. Auch eine Mikrowelle auf dem Flur, es fehlen allerdings Geschirr und Besteck (außer Kaffeetassen). Im Hotel/Motelabschnitt befinden sich die Arbeits/Lagerräume des Servicepersonals. Daher herrscht auf dem Gang viel Bewegung und Unruhe und Lärm in der Zeit von va. 8.30 bis 16/17 Uhr. Die Zimmer sind teils renovierungsbedürftig, besonders der Teppichböden, Betten sind aber bequem. Im Verhältnis war die Unterkunft teuer trotz Nebensaison. Ein „Upgrade“ in eine Appartment oder gar Bungalowkategorie war nur zum vollen Aufpreis möglich. Wir würden die Unterkunft nicht mehr buchen, allein schon wegen des Lichtmangels. "
