„Birds farm is a lovely place to stay for the local Essex or Sussex area. Very quiet in the evenings, despite being just off a busy road. Great facilities, good comfy beds, very warm heating and well supplied cooking facilities. A pool for summer, grounds and a Summer house and a well stocked games room for kids if the weather is bad. „We liked the cottage very much. It was cosy and had a wonderful view to the River Colne. We found everything we needed. We had 2 trips to London, 1 trip to Flatford Mill, to Wivenhoe, the beach of Mersea Island , to Cudmore Grove and we visited our Englisch friends in West Mersea. It was a great adventure, even our grandchildren loved it.“

„The property was perfect for myself, my husband and our cocker spaniel. It was comfortable and cosy with a lovely bed and great shower. Communication with the owner, Christina, was perfect. Everything we could have wanted was available at the property including treats for the dog. We enjoyed visiting some lovely towns and villages in the area. Unfortunately the stormy weather stopped us from going walking as there are many footpaths nearby. We would certainly return to this property. “

„Very close to town, shops and transportation. Easy access to freeway. About 90 minutes from central London, if you need to go into town. I rented a car but you don't really need one as the town center is a 15 minute walk. Beautiful location, friendly neighbors, what's not to like.“

„We have just returned from an absolutely fabulous stay at Harkstead Hall. The house is beautiful. Spacious and has absolutely everything you need for a fun stay with friends. I went prepared with all the usual kitchen essentials but found that it was not needed. Dishwasher tablets, coffee filters, it was all there. Was surprised to see tea, coffee and sugar as well as biscuits provided which way a nice touch as well as shower gel and hand wash. Dolly also accommodated our early arrival which we were grateful for. Lidl was a 1 minute drive so was great when picking up supplies. The beach a 5 minute drive and the pool on complex was free. Auch die Gastgeber geben einem zu jeder Zeit das Gefühl herzlich willkommen zu sein. Man kann es nur empfehlen.“

„A cosy and well equipped cottage in a beautiful Suffolk village. We stayed whilst our house was having some building works and it made the perfect “home away from home”. Any very minor issues (plumbing) sorted straight away by the very helpful property manager. Would highly recommend.“

I was over with a group of Italian students to learn more about English life and culture, and their experience in this beautiful, historical house was perfect. "I was a little bit worried about having booked a room without windows but let met tell you it was great. The rooms are in great conditions and clean. The hotel is located perfectly for a city or football trip. For this price the hotel is a bargain!"
