My husband and I and our two young boys spent five nights here. The location itself is terrific—seconds from one of the most beautiful beaches we visited, across the street from the idyllic Sunrise Shack, a perfect jumping-off point to explore all of Oahu.
The house is a bit of a "beach shack," which worked fine for us. There are quite a few bugs and some very cute geckos scurrying around inside. The view off of the deck is just as pictured, so beautiful.
When I hadn’t received any arrival information the day before our flight, I reached out to Ron and Amanda over VRBO, the provided phone number, and an email I found. Nothing. I had to get VRBO customer service involved, and they couldn’t get in touch with them either. The night before our flight, I got a text from Amanda with check-in info to my relief. We never heard from Ron.
I had depended on there being laundry, but we could not find it. There is no binder or anything with house information like most VRBO homes (including the others we stayed at in Hawaii). I reached out to Amanda, but by the time she got back to me, it was too late to do the laundry. She said there is a washer in a shed in the yard and that the dryer is in an attached house, but the owner is away, so we wouldn’t be able to use it.
We had a fine time. The initial communication was pretty stressful given we were traveling so far with two small kids. Just seems like this property isn't a huge priority for them.
