Magnificent and pristine Elk Creek flows out of the Marble Mountain Wilderness and runs through the property which is surrounded by the Klamath National Forest and located near the Klamath River and the town of Happy Camp. An off-the-beaten-path getaway, Elk Creek Ranch offers a place to relax as well as opportunities for adventure in a beautiful natural setting.
The space
Staying at Elk Creek Ranch will give you a taste of independent living. The house is off the grid and powered by a solar electric system. Satellite internet provides WIFI, cell phone service, and TV. The house provides a full kitchen, living and dining areas, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, laundry room, and deck. Wood stove and central gas heater provide heat in the winter. Water is from a spring fed stream, and the house is equipped with filtered drinking water.
The house sleeps four, but additional guests are permitted. Base price is for 6 guests - for additional guests there is a $25/night fee. Both bedrooms have one queen bed. Additional guests may utilize provided mattresses to sleep on the floor or deck. Tent space in the yard outside the house can accommodate campers who bring their own camping gear. Up to 8 guests are allowed on this listing.

You will have no shortage of activities on the property and in the surrounding area. There are several fabulous swimming holes at Elk Creek Ranch; some with gentle sandy access and family safe swimming, and others with exciting opportunities for rock jumping or inner tube rides. There are also numerous other spectacular swimming spots throughout the region. You can embark on a hike or nature walk from the house or from trailheads just up the road with unique access into the Marble Mountain Wilderness. Enjoy a bike ride on surrounding roads, or bird watching right from the deck. Spend some time making your art or reading a book. Give your children a chance to discover the wonders of nature while splashing in the clear waters and exploring the creekside forests and meadows. Relax in peace and quiet. Be on the lookout for sightings of rare plants and wildlife. And don’t miss the opportunity to spend a day on the Klamath River, well known for its world class fishing and rafting. Nearby rafting and kayaking opportunities on the Klamath and its tributaries include both gentle, peaceful floats as well as adventurous, white water runs.
While Elk Creek Ranch is a secluded and private location, it is only a short 5 mile drive from the Klamath River and the town of Happy Camp. In Happy Camp you can find groceries, pizza, and other services. You might enjoy visiting the Karuk Tribe cultural museum, a visual art or music dinner event at the Klamath Siskiyou Art Center, or the weekly Happy Camp Farmer's Market.
