„We indeed enjoyed our stay a lot with so lovely and thoughtful hosts! It was perfect. Located in the calm countryside of Newcastle, it was most suitable for our daily sightseeing trips and provided a wonderful home afterwards. Spacious rooms with a kitchen that provided everything may think off. The kids very much loved the livestock on the property. Everything was so well looked after. Looking forward to coming back soon!“

„We stayed here as part of birthday celebrations for a big Roman history fan. It felt so special to stay right next to Vindolanda and to know that the Trust benefitted from our stay. The cottage is gorgeous, well stocked with some very kind welcome snacks and plenty of useful amenities. All the rooms are comfortable and the nearby pub is excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely recommend to anyone thinking about booking.“

„I booked last minute for a cycle event in the area, the directions were easy to follow, if you screenshot them as advised, phone signal is poor to non existent (bliss) The Meadow View Hut is clean cozy and well appointed, the fire burns very warm so one of the provided logs at a time. If you can’t be bothered with the hassle of the fire, the heating is plenty on its own. Falstone is a great staging post for Kielder Forest, and there’s plenty of adventurous things to do near by, endless walks ...

„It is a great property in a lovely rural location, yet only a mile or so from Alston. Furnished to a high standard the cottage had all you could need for a comfortable stay (even though we picked a very wet 2-3 days). We enjoyed our all-to-brief stay, and look forward to returning, hopefully when the weather is better and we can enjoy the outside patio area with it's wonderful views.“

„Totally confused Receptionist. Claiming only one room of two booked, at much higher rate. Claiming all Expedia's fault. No, it wasn't. Their Reservation was clear, 2 doubles with bath and breakfast. So the 2nd room was freed with shared bathroom and both pretty battered. Expedia had already charged for both ordered rooms, hotel wanted to further charge, which I rejected. Beautiful area, also hotel location at the river bridge and parking. Look for another accomodation. Not worth the hassle.“
