For the most part, I feel like you get what you pay for in Hawaii, and that is the case with this VRBO rental. My family and I saved money by renting this condo for our trip, and that was great. It was comfortable for the most part, and the $20 parking can’t be beat in Waikiki. Though there were some issues with our parking (someone else was parked in our designated/reserved spot), communication with the host was good, and they were very on top of fixing any issues. The futon is okay to sleep on for two smaller adults - it wasn’t the most comfortable thing in the world, but it was fine for the younger couple in our group; I don’t think my parents could have slept on it. Later in the trip, I did need to notify the host that there seemed to be a trace amount of water leaking from the ceiling - it wasn’t anything immediately dangerous, but it did look like something that would need to be addressed later on. The host asked me for a photo and said they would contact the owners of the above unit. Another thing that should be noted is that this is not a quiet location, though perhaps this is only because of recent overtourism. While the location itself is probably the best feature of the condo in terms of walkability to the beach, Waikiki, and the bus that will take you virtually anywhere you want to go, it was noisy nearly every night, late into the night. I personally wasn’t too bothered by this - and I think the noise of the AC helps cover some of the street noise - but some in my group were bothered. I would like to add that the perks of the condo were great and we did take advantage of them - there are free to use inflatable tubes, beach chairs, and beach towels. All in all, it’s not a luxury condo, but you’re not paying for a luxury condo. It’s comfortable and convenient, but I’ve taken off a star for the listing being a slightly inaccurate for stating that the condo is in a quiet location and that there is a deadbolt on the door (there isn’t on the inside - which would have made me feel better as a woman staying by myself for the last few nights. The electronic lock on the outside works great, but having a deadbolt on the inside would have eased my peace of mind a bit).
