Hveragerdi is a quiet small town located within a beautiful natural setting of mountains and trees.
The area is known for its geothermal activity which will be noticed when walking along river Varmá(warm river) which runs through Reykjadalur and all the way through town.
At the towns public park you might also encounter the amusing sight of salmon jumping up Reykjafoss watetfall. On the rear occasion of a 20°C + summerday in iceland the kids in town like taking a bath in the river.
Its worth mentioning for those interested that at the swimming pool wich is in about a 12 minutes walking distance from the house there is a small gym and just a few steps further access to a beautiful running track along Reykjafjall-mountain
The towns local mini- mall, including a supermarket, bakery, pharmacy, liqustore, atm, Library, Travel information center for southern Iceland and more is also conveniently located within a 10 minute walking distance from the house.
The house has private parking and there are also busses that run from Hveragerdi to Reykjavík or Selfoss throughout the day.
