The property is obviously in a great location. The property could stand to be updated given the price I paid. The downstairs bathrooms did not have hot water. I called to report it. I believe the calls are outsourced. I was told that it was not an included amenity.

Amazing beachfront stay
This house is in a great location. Front beach, shops and restaurants a short walk away. The layout of the home is perfect. Comfortable beds and sofas. New smart tv in the living room. Great front porches with ample seating. The front beach location is priceless. We had some issues with the hot water, my guess management will take care of that soon. This is definitely a classic beach house, don’t expect everything to be brand new. But it was nicer than we expected. We would definitely stay here again!

My family loved the convenience of this home. Directly on the beach. We enjoyed having evening meals on the porch while we watched the sunset. We spotted dolphins swimming about the ocean while we sipped our morning coffee. Great family vacation.

Excellent Location
This home is a great location on the Isle of Palms. It is within walking distance to restaurants. We absolutely loved the porch with a large table and chairs and rocking chairs. We spent a lot of time there. The distance from the house to the beach was short which was very nice with small children. The beds were comfortable. The house was very roomy. We will definitely stay here again.

Mice infested beds
When we arrived and opened up the pull out beds in the bedrooms there was a considerable amount of mouse feces and it was was clear they had been nesting in two mattress. I was surprised because the answer from management wasn’t I am so sorry we will get you a new mattress. I insisted on a new mattress. She wanted to clean it off and let my child sleep on it. I refused. She took the mattress and assured me they would bring a new one. When I went up to put my son in the bed she had covered the same mattress with a bed bug cover. I called her and I found myself arguing with someone about how it is not clean even with a bedbug cover and would not have my child sleep on the same mattress. She had deliberately tried to deceive me. By then it was 10 pm. I requested that they bring a new mattress the next day. Still no apology, nothing. They brought a blowup mattress and I moved on and had a great trip. I am 100% sure that after we left they put back the same mouse infested mattress with a bed bug cover and left it for the next person. Two of the children’s pull out beds had mouse droppings. All three beds are deteriorating, old and dirty. They are advertised in the listing and not useable. For a person to insist that having a child sleep in a bed that has had a rodent living in it even with a cover is appalling to me. I am so over isle of palms and I have been coming here for 40 years. Overpriced and not worth it.

The house was in a great location. The beach just steps out the back door was beautiful. You can walk to bars, restaurants, and grocery as well get Ubers quickly to go off the island. The house was spacious for 3 couples. As many other reviews state…..the home desperately needs to be updated but we didn’t spend much time in the house. Mornings and Sunsets on the huge patio could not be beat.

A Bit of Paradise
We absolutely LOVED this property! As other reviewers have said, the location cannot be beat. It's proximity to the ocean is wonderful and made it so convenient; we didn't have to bring everything down to the beach with us because the house was just right there and we could grab what we needed easily! I wanted to also note that it was obvious that past reviews of the property have been paid attention to and many of the complaints addressed. Here is an update on things that have been fixed that have been mentioned in past reviews: - The refrigerator and microwave both look brand new. They are white appliances, but are new and work great. The fridge has a working ice machine and water dispenser. - The oven has not been updated, but does still function well. - There is now a larger coffee pot available for use that can make up to 12 cups, in addition to a smaller one that can only make 5 cups. There were also ample coffee filters for us to use. - There were lots of bath towels & hand towels for our use. Our group of 8 did not run out. However, you will still need to bring your own beach towels as those were not provided. - We thought the beds were actually comfortable, and there was an adequate amount of pillows provided. - Great outdoor shower for rinsing off can be found under the stairs to the back deck. Cons: Need to provide more trash bags, paper towels, better quality toilet paper, hot plate holders, a kettle, & put screens in sliding doors and windows.

Great Location the house could use some updates
This was an extended family vacation for thanksgiving. Pros: - Location is perfect, walking distance to some restaurants and shops, beach view is amazing and the back deck was perfect. - Check in/out was all online and no problems Layout of the house was great for our family and the living room area/kitchen and bedrooms are all very spacious. Cons: - this house is a bit like a Time Capsule to the 90s. The furniture, art, kitchen, appliances, bathrooms. You name it, it needs updates in this house. It did all work but it’s all very dated, banged up and rusted. - Linens: We had 8 people in the house and the 4 bathrooms had a total of 9 towels and no beach towels. Extra pillows but no extra pillow cases for them. We had to go buy some potholders as there were none. They provided 1 kitchen towel. - The biggest con for me and why we wouldn’t return are the beds. They are rock hard, old and all the beds creak & squeak. We dreaded going to bed and were up with the sunrise just to escape them. Thin foam pillows.

Lovely Surroundings
We enjoyed our stay very much. The house is right on the beach with a private walkway! We watched the sunrises, ships going by, and surfers. Went for walks on the beach. Some went for runs on the beach and swimming in the ocean. The house was nice and comfortable. Plenty of room and accommodations for our party of nine people. I would want to rent this house again if I should ever come back to the island.

The location of this beach house cannot be beat!
You stay at this home for the location - it cannot be beat. It is right on the beach, within steps. The view is unbelievable, who doesn't want to wake up and be able to see the ocean directly from their bed, and then be able to step through a sliding door and be on the porch watching the sun come up? Unforgettable. The porch is comfortable with a lot of chairs and a great table set at one end. It is in walking distance to restaurants and shops, and close to Uber to downtown Charleston, Sullivan's Island, etc. For all of THESE reasons, I would 100% rent this house again. That being said, I was surprised that there was such a lack of amenities and basics in this home, like I have found in other VRBO's I have rented. What you won't find: Beach chairs / umbrellas / beach towels, etc. Coffee filters Salt / pepper Garbage bags (we were only given 3 for the kitchen for our entire stay). Things like this make a big difference. Also, please provide a larger coffee pot. A 5 cup pot for a house that can house enough people to fill 4 bedrooms is certainly inadequate. In addition, please do some work on this house - the porch and steps in particular. I almost tripped down the steps because a few are actually loose, and one is broken off on one end. Very easy to get splinters - wood or paint. Once of the arms of the porch chairs was broken, and there is literally a hole in the cloth chair in the living room. And as other reviewers have pointed out, the house is very dated and in need of basic upgrades. I could not use the closet in the master bedroom due to the musty moldy smell, and one of the doorwall doors would not open in that bedroom either. The caulk in the bathtub of the 4th bedroom looked mildewed, and the shower curtain did not hang straight. Lastly, on our last day the cleaners arrived at 8:40 AM, well before our checkout time. NOT GOOD and certainly not appreciated. I would for sure rent this house again but hope that the owners will take heed of some of the reviews that point out much of what I am noting here. Communication with VRBO was excellent and very appreciated. Thanks

Perfect location
We spent my kids’ spring break here and brought an additional 4 teenage friends. The teenagers shared the two upstairs rooms and enjoyed having their own space. I stayed downstairs with my son. The layout of the house worked beautifully for us. Kitchen, dining and living room are a generous size and nicely accommodated all of us. The best part is the location of the house! It’s right on the beach and made supervising the kiddos so easy. I was able to sit on the porch with my coffee and book while having an eye on them. We also really enjoyed the little shopping/ restaurant area just three blocks away. You can easily walk there and because it is small and quaint, I felt good about the teenagers biking there by themselves to grab coffee or ice cream. They loved the Ben & Jerry’s! The house was super clean and offered everything we needed. The only concern I had was that the upstairs sliding doors onto the deck, as well as one of the downstairs sliding doors onto the back porch didn’t latch properly so you couldn’t lock them. However, they provided wooden pieces to put in the door frame to “lock” them at night. Overall we had a fantastic stay and are looking forward to renting this gem again!

Location was absolutely A+ in terms of convenience. Quiet neighborhood (no condos nearby). Setting on the beach was excellent with the dunes being just 50' from the deck. The local manager surprised us by leaving a birthday card and gift for my wife. Even more impressive is that the manager didn't even know it was a birthday event until we were about 30 minutes away. The house was spacious and well laid out with each party having access to a private bath. We were there during the off-season so traffic was minimal and things were quiet, and we had a lovely time. The house is worn/showing its age, but who cares with that view and location? The only thing we'd suggest is that the toilets be updated so they aren't so low on the floor. For us getting up in age, that's now an issue to consider. Otherwise, we would not hesitate returning.

Fantastic View
When you walk in the house from the front door and look straight ahead, you see glass doors and the ocean. On the front porch facing the ocean is a large table on one side and many rocking chairs. The view is perfect! There were 6 women (all over 60) and we loved the house. Yes, it needs some painting but overall, it was in fine shape. The great room is a combo kitchen/den with another table that seats 8. Love the granite countertops! The weather was wretched and although we had bought games with us, we also found a 1000-piece puzzle that we all worked on and completed at midnight on our last night! Beds were comfy. We had a problem with one of the toilets soon after our arrival and they came immediately and fixed it. We think we might rent it again!

Fantastic location within walking/golf cart distance of the downtown strip and directly on a less-crowded part of the beach. House was clean and the layout was perfect. The back porch with the rocking chairs and dining table was the perfect place to sit and enjoy the view and fit our entire party. The house is in slightly shabby condition with peeling paint and rusted fixtures, but it was clean so that didn't bother us. The problems were with the dishwasher (didn't work), back door (didn't lock), dirty silverware in the drawers, mold on the back stairs and a loose board on the back stairs. Missing some items that should be essentials (like a frying pan), but otherwise we had an excellent time and would stay here again!

We came for the location and proximity to the beach. We were not disappointed. However!
There were several issues with the property. The freezer didn’t work, several items thawed while inside. Ice maker and dispenser along with the water dispenser didn’t work. Range was in need of some repairs. Had problems with hot water in one of the showers. Air conditioning quit although management did have it repaired fairly quickly. The home could use updated and it does need some repairs. One garage door opener didn’t work. The front and rear steps were difficult to navigate as it was hard to distinguish the step distance. Maybe because of the paint color? Maybe they should have additional lighting. Water pressure was quite low and the women had trouble washy/rinsing hair. They provide a grill but it’s definitely due for replacement! Controls don’t work well and igniter isn’t functioning.THE GOOD PART, we came for location and view, we loved that part! The rear decks couldn’t have been better! If you are more concerned about inside, take a pass! If you are coming for the view and location, this is a winner! JUST MAKE SURE THE IMPORTANT ISSUES HAVE BEEN RESOLVED! ,

Close to un crowded beach - comfortable house
This is a BEACH house – so it is a little shabby from wear and salt air, but everything was comfortable and super clean. As other reviews noted there is some deferred maintenance that is needed – mostly cosmetic (peeling paint, missing can lights in ceiling, missing kitchen cabinet door latches, loose outlet plugs, stained dining room rug). Management did react promptly to all our immediate needs. The crowning grace is its location – the house is steps from the beach and the porch is wide and big. We watched the sunrise almost every morning from the 7 rockers on the porch. You can walk to the IOP commercial district from the house for Ben & Jerry’s ice cream or a meal in several of the restaurants (Acme was our favorite for breakfast). We usually had the beach in front of the house to ourselves when we set up our umbrellas and chairs for the day (it was mid-September). When we looked at other ocean front houses on Isle of Palms – they were either to big, overpriced, or to far from the beach. This one filled our NEEDS for a great relaxing laid-back place for the family. Our wish list for the house: Seat cushions for the dining room chairs; a second king size bed upstairs; and a dining room chandelier with more than four 15-watt bulbs. We already booked this house for next year for another 2 weeks. Yes, not everything is perfect at the house – but everything works and overall, we had a great time here.
